You can add 3x22 too, but 4x22 is the more obvious one.

Jontor11

Season 5 of Buffy is GOATED!!!!

Norrin Radd

You meant 3x22, right?

BetheSOUL

I didn't pick up on that, thanks for clarifying

BetheSOUL

Rana - one thing that might make you feel less weird about the opening of Angel is that Cordelia seems to be leaving an acting CLASS rather than leaving set for a project that she's booked. I assume she told the teacher when she started the class that she has a really demanding on-call job and if she gets a 911 page she has to leave immediately. It still shows character growth, but it's less intense than taking off in the middle of filming. Makes you wonder, though...what would she do if she was filming? Unfortunately it would just be pretty impossible to be a working actor if you had to prioritize your other job to that extent. Reminds me of Buffy's work/life issues!

Stayjers

I noticed on the sunday rundown they will say there were no comments for Angel but I usually see a lot on here for Angel

Calvin Allen

I like when Rana gets all feisty like that- she's wrong but it's fun to see lol

Daniel R

I completely forgot the hyperion was in this ep

Macs

Yeah, she didn't even notice David Boreanaz hiding around the corner to walk into frame so we wouldn't see his reflection. lol

Cory Garron

Yes, my mistake. I finished watching when I thought they were done, but they caught it at the end.

Jontor11

I mean… don’t wanna get into spoilers but if you’re interested am happy to share a video that breaks down why he’s deeply toxic

space colon

How dare he care about her well-being.

DarthCaedus

Yea I don't get it either :-/ Like, I thought it was kinda badass how the main 3 just strutted into that gym, handled their business, kicked demon ass, saved lives, and then just strutted out of there with the same confidence they walked in with. Demon hunter professionals

Ariel17

You just said specific details lol. Whereas I did not. "Movies 2 and 3.." You DO realize the more you comment you're the one who's actually spoiling stuff right now...right? I'm going to be the bigger person right now and just stop this pointless comment exchange. But feel free to continue arguing by yourself if you want.

DuffMD

Normies watching Gandalf fight the Balrog in Moria: "We like this Gandalf, he's a pretty cool dude!" DuffMD: "Oh man, you're gonna love him in movies 2 and 3, so much depth and lore, I can't wait!!!"

Pajander

Clearly you're just here to get a rise out of people or argue with them lol. But saying vaguely that something is one of the best things of this show is in no way saying anything specific about the length, amount or breadth of its involvement in it lol. I find Ive done my best to avoid being spoilery. But behind that snipe and sass, I still get the actual point you're intending to make and I can appreciate it. Thank you despite the attitude.

DuffMD

And before you ask: anything that requires you to have seen future episodes to write is a spoiler.

Pajander

"The Host is an AMAZING character, and has so much depth, lore, backstory. He is one of the best things about this show." But there's no point in arguing since you're obviously one of those weirdos who are, for some reason, completely incapable of understanding what a spoiler is.

Pajander

I'm genuinely confused; what was Rana's issue with the opening scene of Angel? Like, was she having a bad day? No hate, I have no idea why she got so tilted by it.

Sheriff Uchiha

@Pajander, it's almost as if Im a patron in the community of this REACTION channel, and just sharing how I feel about something! Like everyone else is! They're not just buddies watching something on their own in their living room lol. They're doing so for an audience...US. Also....not in the slightest telling THEM how to feel about anything.

DuffMD

I know you're not here telling them how to feel about a character they've seen exactly once and would have no way of knowing if he's even gonna show up again, ever. Why can't you people just let them watch the show?

Pajander

In the Young Justice episode the lady who was trying to launch the satellite was Billionaire Carol Ferris who is often shown in the comics as being Green Lantern's girlfriend. Also was Chris aware of "Superman: Red Son" or did he just invent it in his head when he said how would we feel if Superman was raised in Russia?

Frankie H

"Batman: Under the Red Hood" let's go!!! For me that's like top 5 DC animated films

Frankie H

"secret sister" lol you guys are just rolling with it? hilarious

Macs

So excited to watch season 5 of buffy with you guys! You all bring such a great energy to these reactions and it’s nice to see a group of friends laugh and have fun with this show. Also just putting this here even though it may be a bit early but I don’t know how long in advance you guys schedule these things: while there is some crossover between buffy season 5 and angel season 2, I would say the only thing you need to be aware of and plan around is to make sure you watch the season finale of buffy BEFORE the season finale of angel, as the angel series finale contains spoilers for the buffy finale. Have fun!

Silence_giraffe

Chris saying more of the same for Angel Season 2, how wrong he is about to be MWAHAHHA

TheyCallMeJeff

The Host is the best.

#Sunday Rundown# - Casting Trivia Rudolf Martin played Sarah Michelle Gellar's HUSBAND on All My Children in the 90s. They knew each other from AMC and SMG suggested Trachenberg for this role. Trachenberg was already a big Buffy fan. P.S. - Be glad you guys do not have to watch week to week for these next episodes, as back in 2001 I was getting so pissed I swear I was about to quit watching... but it all paid off in the end... well before the Holiday break.

Cory Garron

Thanks, I kept trying to place it!

Ashleep

the reaction to Dawn did not disappoint lol. when i realized today was the 5x1 reaction i got really excited. but also the dracula stuff super fun and brings some classic vampire lore to buffy. as for Angel, this begins my absolutely favorite season of Angel. they totally double down on the theme of the show in this episode. i love the journey the team goes on wrt keeping score. angel's light at the end of the tunnel speech is a fantastic addition to the episode and great insight into where his head is at. i love that he wants to be human yet still gave up humanity in season 1 when he felt like he didn't deserve it. i think now he wants it, and does see that he deserves some kind of happiness. but he's still willing to earn it. i love love love the ending scene with Faith. it makes me so happy that they added this little scene, especially in an episode where Angel and the team had to be reminded about their mission: it's not a game, and they're not keeping score because what matters the most is helping people. to have Faith in this episode where they realize that is a great callback to Season 3 of Buffy when she was telling Buffy that it's okay if they do some bad things because the good things they do will balance out. but now Faith and Angel are on the road to redemption. hearing Faith talk about her time in prison also reinforces how hard this road is. she has bad days but she's choosing to be there (she's a slayer, she can easily break out). i also just love that Angel hasn't forgotten about her. i don't fault any of the Scoobies or Cordelia or Wes for giving up on Faith -- they have their reasons for that. But I'm glad Faith has one person on her side, and that one person understands what she's going through. having that one person can make a whole difference in someone's life. sorry didn't mean to go long but there's just so much to dig into with Season 2. so stoked for next week.

Katey

Definitely the best season

x_Rhi_x

Yeah...XD. Oh well XD

All Mighty Lowercase Jay

Next week, one of my fav Buffyverse episodes of all time with Angel 2x2.

Shockzz1234

Woooo an amazing Buffy Thursday and Pirate Thursday as well Thank you normies for reacting to one piece right away.... that was amazing... and and great buffy thursday for the Dracula episode wooooo, and awesome twist after that..... and finally getting the heart of season2 in young justice, oh man its very heavy and exciting Thursday towards the weekend with one piece, and all these amazing premier episodes.

Ricardo Obregon

Please remember to watch Buffy 5x7 and Angel 2x7 together and bring Marketa for Angel. It is very worth it.

Miranda

All true but I knew Aqualad couldn't have really betrayed them and then him just killing Artemis like that...NO WAY JOSE!!!

Brandon Gibbs

Yea I can’t fault anybody that doesn’t like S6, it definitely has its issues, but for me I always felt that the season was needed especially when telling a story that’s basically about a young girl growing up, S6 is a natural progression of her story (even though there were some rough moments to sit through). Which is why I always enjoyed it, but I can very well understand why it’s not everybody’s cup of tea lol.

Nyeisha Melvina Clark

Dracula said the same line "Tara" said in 4x22 "You think you know. What you are. Whats to come. You haven't even begun." OMINOUS

Chris K.

Love the intro to the season, Buffy has just made killing vampires a piece of her life. It gives her peace Forgot how annoying and awful Riley was 😩

Pat bringing the facts today with NPR sources. Your cat doesn't want to kill you..... they'll just eat your dead body like a lot of animals would for survival. https://www.npr.org/sections/13.7/2015/11/12/455725899/your-cat-doesn-t-really-want-to-kill-you

Chaos T

The negative thing about watching a group of people reacting to a show, is that one person will spoil or figure something out before anybody else even thinks of it, and blurts it out. Kind of a buzzkill

Bastion33

best dracula is in marvel comics. like this one he has all the classic powers: control of night beasts including the ability to become them (rats, bats, wolves), control of elements (including able to become fog, thats how he "teleports"), mind control and seemingly "cant" die. just turns to dust and comes back later. in bram they had to do several things to kill him: stake, cut off head and then burn the body, cause drac is THAT powerful. but they didnt know he come reconstitute from ashes. sigh SO GOOD! and that is the dracula that marvel comics' version is based upon, complete with the bela lugosi outfit on. FIERCE. til the 2000s and they made him go full anime super villain with butt length white hair and guyver like body armor.

rickie woodson

Nicholas Brendon's comedic acting was pretty damn good in this series.

Chaos T

Ursula was also introduced in the first season of Friends. Bad example on Chris's part.

K Murray

"Red Son" story is one of the best alternate history story's in comics. The animated adaptation isn't bad either despite some changes.

Chaos T

i agree with chris and i can see it and will add in a name to that hat: michelle trachtenberg, amanda bynes, and amber tamblyn are cousins and no one can tell me any different lol. not that i would ever confuse them with each other but mix up names and go "hey she looks like" when i saw them for the first time? you betcha bottom dollar. all 3 are from the same era and have a similar vibe. teen brunettes with spunk and likable personalities. just something DOWN about them. like it was so believable amber teaching prince nicolas a hip hop dance routine from aaliyah or whomever it was cause of COURSE she would. MY GIRLS!

rickie woodson

definitely fooled me on the first watch til the "death" of artemis. that was a little too far for me. but villains become heroes all the time (rogue, mystique and magneto all eventually joined the xmen) and vice versa (colossus, element lad, a certain someone in invincible) so the possibility of aqualad becoming a villain was never in question. the show killing off a major character was.

rickie woodson

*context clues* *Sarcasm*

CWall

#sundayrundown really not related to the YJ episode, but Chris makes an off-handed comment about Superman being raised in the USSR instead of the US, and I'm not sure if he knew or not but that's an actual comic called Red Son. Kind of like Marvel's version of What If?, DC has "Elseworlds" where the writers will change a key aspect of a character and explore what they'd be like in this other universe. To end on a more YJ related fact and multiverse stuff, the YJ-earth is canonically Earth-16, whenever they mention the number 16 in an episode it's a cheeky reference (the JL was missing 16 hours, sometimes on camera footage the timestamp will include 16 seconds, etc).

Charlie Maletich

Normies remember - Buffy 5x07 should be followed by Angel 2x07. It's a package deal.

Jontor11

such a great buffy episode. xander was FULL XANDER this ep. in his prime with the the whacky comedy antics. LOVE IT. the witty dialogue, totes buffy with all the dark prince and "cow me" lol SO GOOD! and we can already see parts of the mega premonition coming true here. when they tapped into the power of the first it enhanced all buffy's slayer powers, including her ability of prophetic dreams, which was episode 4x22. dracula said the exact same words as the first slayer "you think you know what you are but you have not even begun". and the premonition from season 3 when faith and buffy locked minds "gotta get the room ready for little sis". its all starting to slowly be revealed! so, i only caught episodes here and there of the show til it moved to upn with season 6, so when dawn appeared i just went "oh well her parents are divorced, i guess the little sister has been living with dad". michelle trachtenberg was a big star in my generation (harriet the spy) so seeing her had me GOOPED and SIKED. pure joy and excitement. she is such a phenomenal actress. LETS GO SEASON 5!!!!!!!!!!

rickie woodson

You can bring anything in jail

It always makes me happy cause it shows he's still there for her. He has her back. She has one person who won't forget her.

Alicia

That would be dope too.

Thanks!

They haven’t yet

DarthCaedus

I believe they watched it on the stream

DarthCaedus

That’s valid, these guys do miss some important stuff. But if you were hoping for them to read your comment on the rundown, calling them “the worst reactors ever” isn’t likely gonna increase your chances lol

SeymourAsces

Does anyone know if they have reacted to Angel episode 3/4 yet? I didn’t see anything the last two Tuesdays but sometimes they sneak one in at an off time. If anyone knows anything, I greatly appreciate it.

Courtney Scott

You forgot to watch the aftercredits of Angel. It's kind of a karaoke bonus. About Buffy's sister. All I say is Buffy 3x03 4x15 4x22.

Jontor11

#sundayrundown fun fact: carol ferris (head of the satelite mission) is a very important dc figure. not going to go into too many details in case you watch other shows with her in it but she is essentially hal jordan's (green lantern) lois lane. he flies the planes and she runs the company that makes them: Ferris Air. and yeah, except for the eyes and hair style, she looks a lot like lois.

rickie woodson

I hope this series breaks the Western adaptation of an anime to live action curse.

Chaos T

it wasnt JUST because his girlfriend died its the combination of her death, the way she died and the betrayal of aquaman hiding who his father was. even if it was "just because his girlfriend died" it would be enough. if you had ever been in love before you wouldnt be so flippant about that loss being enough to flip a switch and change a person's personality. people have LITERALLY become murderers over the death/loss of a loved one so..........

rickie woodson

Rana and Spidey holding the line at the end. ✊

Pajander

For #sundayrundown. For the comments about the "Host" of the karaoke bar "Caratas" (his real name is awesome, there are a few reveals on it progressively later on, wait for it ) There were jokes about him just being Lucifer from the self titled tv show (and I must emphasize I am a HUGE fan of both series), Angel aired WAYYYY before Lucifer (Angel premiered 1999, Lucifer 2016), and the TV series' Lucifer is very different from the Neil Gaiman original character from the Sandman comics run. The Host is far from copying Lucifer, if anything, it would be more the other way around. Though Lucifer is more carousing, indulgent, hedonistic and egocentric, whereas The Host is...well, you'll see :) The Host is an AMAZING character, and has so much depth, lore, backstory. He is also very different from Lucifer, despite being in a bar and singing. I think by the end of this episode you already started getting a glimpse of it too. He is one of the best things about this show honestly, and Angel starts getting even BETTER in season 02 for this and many other reasons. Really happy you're here now :3 As for Buffy, the writers worked towards this, they haven't really let us down so far! You'll see, Dawn is great <3 . (There are even references about this in past seasons, including the s04 finale. Won't go too far into that to avoid spoilers, but people have even been referencing it here in comments since y'all started the series too :3 )

DuffMD

Season 6 has aged better for me.

Chaos T

"Bones" was a damn fun ride and is the show he's probably most famous for.

Yeah it's kinda nuts. 26 years and 517 episodes and looks like the only year he wasn't doing a show was 2004-2005. And it feels like he basically learned to act during the first season of Buffy.

Pajander

If any of these options get them to react to "Batman: Under the Red Hood", let's go.

Chaos T

DC animated movie reaction would be bad ass.

Chaos T

Gaslighting Dawn like that...so bad

DuffMD

in the show Mad about you. They even had a crossover with 2 of the characters from Mad about You coming in to Central Perk and thinking Phoebe was her sister XD

DuffMD

You guys need to go back and rewatch previous episodes. Buffy’s sister has always been there 🤷🏽‍♂️.

R3v1v4L

Micky, probably the reasons why Dracula is the most famous vampire IRL is because his backstory, where he impaled tens of thousands of people amongst other cruelty, is pretty f'd up and Bram Stoker is a great storyteller.

Chaos T

Great movie. Even Keanu Reeve's absolutely awful fucking performance can't take away from it

Brakthir

"Bram Stoker's Dracula" would be a great film to react to for October. It's one of the best Dracula movies and a great film in the vampire genre.

Chaos T

That "welcome back" from Aqua Lad is so chilling

Catradora fan

did i miss a post about when the nexf avatar read along will go up??

Michael Doyle

Do you know if they are doing it?

Courtney Scott

Season 2 of Angel is where the fun begins.

Chaos T

Seeing the Hotel set for the first time in a long time on Angel (chills!), felt really nice too, good feelings, to come back here and it's a treat to watch the Normies dive into the series more!

j c

I know all of you were definitely fooled at first about Aqualad and then Artemis here, cause so was I almost but I was already suspecting something had to be going on and I was right.

Brandon Gibbs

Yayyy!!!! Season 5 standing beside season 3 as the best Buffy seasons. I personally heavily enjoyed S6 as well even though it’s regarded as the most controversial (and rightfully so). So I can’t wait to gets your take on these two wild seasons. Plus S2 and S3 of Angel as well are my personal favorites!!! Enjoy.

Nyeisha Melvina Clark

Buffy season 5 here we go!!! this season contains what I personally believe to be one of (if not the) best episodes of television ever, and the whole thing is pretty great! starting with this wonderful first episode, it's a vampire show of course they had to do Dracula eventually and I thinks that this was such a fun way to do it! It's also great that they immediately establish Buffy wanting to learn more about the history of The Slayer since that's not something the show has really touched on! There's so much to look forward to this season and I'm eagerly awaiting getting to see all the reactions

Callie

Season 3 of Buffy, Joyce and her supernatural daughter have a conversation in the kitchen. Joyce: It's a good thing you were an only child....

Tim Pierce

OHHHHH SHIT BUFFY HERE WE GOOOOOOOOOO

Galaktix

Phoebe's sister was a character before Phoebe even existed.

Calvin Allen

Ah the late season secret sister trope! 90s and 2000s tv shows are so predictable 🤣

bits

She hardly ever even raised her voice

CWall

To be fair, Trachtenberg was pretty reserved the last four seasons

DarthCaedus

JOYCE: "You know, I'm going to have to get used to this place without you again. It gets so quiet." Deep down, you know all you need to know.

John Moreland

Uh yeah for missing the entire existence of a major character for years duh

CWall

They’ve had four seasons of her, can’t imagine why they would be annoyed

DarthCaedus

For such a big plot point, yeah.

DarthCaedus

Lmao you really expect them to put you on the sunday rundown after you diss them?

SeymourAsces

we were promised feet pics

Pervy Sage

they never sync up for me. The best copy I use is Amazon, even paid for it just for this even though it is included on hulu and I have my own copy. I always have to pause one or the other every now and then to resync them. I put Normies on my computer and buffy on the TV, mute the tv and watch with the normies audio this eliminates and echos and gets me pretty close. Buffy has been messed with by every source that has had it, small trims and changes in the timing, it just is always hard to sync.

Eric Paul Owens

Trachtenberg has been getting better and better with each season, but this one is really where she hits her forte. It was good of the writers to keep her on this long and give her a chance.

DarthCaedus

#Sunday Rundown Great reaction and discussion! When some "mature" superhero shows explore how people with super powers can go wrong, They tend to focus on the violent or adult aspects. What i love about the Miss M and Superboy exchange is that it framed the misuse of powers in a very mature, personal and (ironicaly) human way. Also, the main reason Nightwing, Miss M and Superboy arent on the Justice league is because the league is very public facing. They are in the spotlight. The Team on the otherhand works on the sly and co-vertly while supporting the league's mission.

Aadit Doshi

"what else is boreanaz in?" Weirdly enough, David Boreanaz has become one of the most successful TV actors of all time. After being a series regular in Buffy for 3 seasons... he was the lead in Angel for 5 seasons, shared lead in Bones for 11 seasons, and is the lead for Seal Team which just got renewed for an 8th season. He's found a niche demo apparently that just loves this guy. To be a lead of 3 different successful shows, back to back to back, for over 20 years is pretty ridiculous. I gotta just give this dude his flowers.

Bisibia

#SundayRundown I swear these are the worse reactors ever!! Do y’all not remember the episode when DAWN was the first to figure out FAITH switched bodies with BUFFY?? Y’all really don’t pay attention to anything smh

CWall

Chris has no faith in the writers. 😬

NJM

Forget that, better to start with the better movies before that like New Frontier and Crisis on Two Worlds so they can feel utter disappointment of the New 52 derived crap.

Joshua Perez

I love that in its 5th season Buffy still manages to find new ways to explore different aspects of its own universe and make it fun and a bit wacky. Plus, that ending got the exact reaction i expected . . Confused the heck outta me when I first watched too but all will be revealed soon enough 😉

ray s

It frustrated me that after all this time they don't have faith in the writers 😞 but I guess at least they weren't annoyed or angry about the sister's appearance.

x_Rhi_x

Just following up on another comment, you guys should REALLY try to watch the DCAMU movies starting with Justice League War. Those would be great reactions. There’s other DC animated movies outside of the DCAMU series that are absolute fire but there’s so many that it’d be best to just start there

flexluthor

I think they should watch the DC animated movies instead tbh

flexluthor

Buffy uncut is Out of Sync for the last 20 minutes!

Jayla

Not sure if they would since they dropped Batman the animated series and I feel like watching that and Superman the animated series should come before Justice League and Unlimited

Daniel Gonzalez

You guys should definitely go and watch Justice League/Justice League Unlimited after this! This couch would enjoy it for sure. It does not connect to Young Justice however.

Rishi Shukla

Holy hell, that's one of the funniest reactions to the 5x1 ending that I've ever seen. A+ delicious and really makes me anticipate the next few episodes.

Kris

#Sunday Rundown This is one of the best episodes of Young Justice in my opinion. This is the episode where everything comes into focus regarding season 2, where suddenly everything comes into focus. Right here is where we finally fully get to see the season 2 theme in action, *espionage*. Finding out Kaldur is undercover with Black Manta is an incredible twist that suddenly puts the entire season into perspective. We finally see that season 2 is still about the OG 6, just with a bunch of new supporting characters. But this season is ultimately about, Dick, Kaldur, Artemis and Wally's plan to send Kaldur undercover into the Light. We have the personal character stories of Wally and Artemis trying to be retired, but Artemis missing the life, and how that intertwines with the season arc of the invasion and Kaldur's undercover mission. We have Dick struggling with leadership while having to keep all these secrets. We have M'gann and Conner's story with M'gann abusing her powers. This season is still about our OG's, we are seeing how they have grown and change, and how they react in a more mature, morally complex situation. What is incredible about this episode is how the show flips the script on what you expected was going on with Kaldur and Artemis, and then... shows they are reversing, doing a complete inverse, of the season 1 story. Season 1 was about the Light having a mole in the team... season 2, is about the team getting a mole in the Light.

Riley Wigmore

Oh Mandy...oh Mandy. Great opener to the season really gives the mission statement of the show. Redemption is long and difficult thing to accomplish and can't be forced. Also idk why but the idea of Angel visiting Faith in prison makes me happy.
