I feel like you guys are missing a lot of nuance when it comes to Geto's character and his arc. Think of him as Magneto in the Jujutsu world. He sees sorcerers being victims of non-sorcerers and he's decided that the ones he wants to protect are his own people. Like Magneto, Geto has been exposed to the worst of human society. He also cared for the girls, and didn't just save them because they were powerful. The girls were blamed and punished for the curse in the village but as we learnt in this episode, sorcerers don't create curses, regular humans do. Seeing their treatment confirmed his view that it's the sorcerers that need to be saved, not the other way around.

I think it’s so interesting that Kakashi and Gojo have such huge similarities. Both are mentor figures, have light hair, cover their eyes, are hyper competent while acting foolish. Both of their black haired childhood friends were idealistic, while they were cocky and didn’t care for others. Both ended up changing their outlooks after a traumatizing event. Both of their friends became villains. And finally both had a brown haired bob cut girl teammate who is a healer.

Nah, I think he left a few years later. It’s implied that he was a Grade 1 sorcerer when he came back, so that means he went through the whole training and rank up system before he left.

One of the things I thought was cool about Young Justice's main villain, Vandal Savage, is that when he got hit with a Canary Cry here, he was only driven back a few steps, while Green Lantern was straight-up sent flying across the room into a pillar with enough force to cave it in. It's subtle things like that which show you how powerful Vandal is. Not only that, but immediately afterwards, Vandal freakin' walked up to a tornado attack from Red Tornado with his hands behind his back and then blocked it with ease. He just pulled a Darkseid there. More than that, they full-on stated in this episode that, Vandal Savage and Chaos Lord Klarion the Witch Boy, those two alone could take on and defeat EVERY SINGLE ONE of the heroes at once. And the only reason they didn't is that Klarion would've ended up losing control and killing all of them, and the Light still needs the Justice League alive. As Savage himself said, the reason why the Justice League has been the biggest bother to his plans in 50,000 years isn't that he can't take them out (because he can take them out), but rather what they represent and have inspired: an age of heroes that has caused mankind to stagnate its own "glorious evolution" in favour of leaving everything to these heroes who would protect them from everything. In order to overturn that and ensure that Earth takes its place as the dominant force in the universe, Vandal and his group, the Light, need to make use of the very perpetrators of this societal state, the Justice League, rather than kill them. Also, Chris made a pretty good comparison between Savage and Salem from RWBY.

I believe that when the kid haibara died was the last straw for geto to go evil a long with what todou’s master told him, what kind of girl do you like!!!! GREAT REACTION GUYS……

Psyko6

Also, Nanami probably left the jujutsu world after this incident and then came back as shown in his flashback in S1. He was probably cold towards Itadori at first because he reminded him so much of his partner Haibara. He didn't want to get attached.

Yes like the other commenters noted, it's because Geto is so emotional and kind he was pushed over the edge. In season 1 they say sorcerers need to be with a loose screw to survive in this profession. It's kind of the case of Obito where you feel too much for this ruthless world and in turn go down the wrong path. Of course that does not excuse any of Geto's actions but one may wonder how things would be different if Geto was like say Mei Mei who got her money for the job and peaced out. So as we can see it's important for sorcerers to have a 'why?' and to have a bit of a screw lose and that's why the principal tests Itadori's resolve in episode 2 of S1 because he was already got burnt once with Geto.

bondbond53

Exactly. Geto cares for jujutsu sorcerers. This is blatantly clear in the movie when Gojo sent Panda and Inumaki against him, knowing he'd most likely not kill them.

You guys really underestimate Geto's kindness, he 100% took in those girls out of compassion, not to use them. Even the moments before his death the only thing he asked Gojo was "did my family get out alright?". Doesn't excuse his twisted ideology but he's a much more complex character than a evil doer twirling his moustache

3 week wait until JJK resumes. Ugh! Just some points. Geto had taken care of the cursed spirits causing issues in that village. The two girls weren't responsible for that but the humans in that village caged them up and treated them like trash. That was the final breaking point for Geto, seeing humans treat two young girls who had cursed energy like that so he finally snapped and killed them all. You see these girls again in JJK 0, the movie as teenage girls. Yuki, the woman that talked to Geto, was seen very briefly in a Todo flashback where he was beating up the high school kid. She was the one who told him "Nice fight, boy! What's your type of woman?" Haibara died in a mission with Nanami. They believed the curse was a second grade, which they could handle but the people of the village they were sent to were praying/had faith in that spirit and it turned out to be a local deity/god. Also, now we have met all 4 of the special grade sorcerers. Gojo, Geto, Yuki and Yuta. Chris should 100% livestream the JJK 0 movie!

Re: Chris asked us to comment on Angel about souls and vampires (and I have no idea how to comment on the video itself, I swear I tried). As I understand even according to Christianity the soul is not the same as the mind. The brain, your memories, etc. are part of your body. The soul is the breath of God that you breathe while you're alive. It leaves you when you die with your last breath. If the devil preserves your body, your brain, that can preserve your memories, your thoughts.
