It shows what is the worse thing that could happen when machismo takes over. Granddad felt disrespected and was mad at Stinkmeaner but he did not want him to die. In real life Granddad would have spent years in jail and live with the guilt of taking a life, or probably suppress that guilt.

I appreciate Chris for mentioning Dave Chappelle's remark about how at some point he felt like his show was mostly white audiences laughing at the Black American issues he was satirizing. Certain scenes in The Boondocks went viral and reached audiences that sometimes lacked the necessary context to understand what the show was making fun of, and it ended up just being non-black people quoting those viral scenes at nauseum, often using the n-word while doing so.
