i was wondering how Marketa was going to react to the pinnacle of Buffy x Angel. ngl, Buffy x Angel is my #1 ship. That's more that Jack x Rose. Hell that's more than DESMOND X PENNY (they #2). The end scene is too much for me tho. The writers deserve a slap upside the head for crappy excuses for status quo. But I had a breakup with a 'love of your life' boyfriend that played out pretty much exactly the same. Instead of magic crap at midnight, it was his flight out of Beijing to go back to his home country. Around midnight so the airport was almost deserted, and we were staring at each other and staring at the airport clock. Guh it was horrible. I can't really rewatch this episode. All love to SMG. SMG and I are on the same train when it comes to Angel being Buffy's soulmate. It's phenomenal acting which I'm sure is easier to channel when the writing gives you that opportunity. Poor SMG, she normally is like on/off switch but she felt that episode kinda like Bryan Cranston feeling the Breaking Bad episode near the end of S2. (In both cases, the actors cried off set and David Boreanaz and Anna Gun tried to console them)

But I would definitely pay to see edited double drops. Especially since Alley is almost done with Angel so they might be my only early watches soon.

It's a big commitment, though: every week for the next 4 and a half seasons, and if you miss one episode, the fans will go up in flames, which the Normies won't like. Consistency is key in keeping the Normies business afloat. So, are you willing to commit?

2023-05-23 13:45:31 +0000 UTCI can't remember who said it, but whoever mentioned that both buffy and angel are shows are about heroes is totally correct. esp with Angel, when his show deals a lot with redemption, his decision at the end of this episode makes so much sense. take into consideration the end of the gem of amarra arc -- it's the same thing. that's why i don't really care that angel technically made a decision without consulting buffy, because ultimately we had to get back to the status quo, and things were moving fast. Angel is a warrior of the Powers That Be, and him turning human was taking a warrior off the chess board. the change had to happen. And it's just a perfect encapsulation of the heartbreak and tragedy of Buffy and Angel's relationship. I love them together, but I'm also glad they aren't together, because their purpose is somewhere else. im not sure this was a great episode for Marketta to sit through, just because she doesn't have the context of Angel as a show. Angel has a very specific theme, and it's definitely in the early days of solidifying itself, but it's there. This is no longer boyfriend Angel on BTVS, this is Angel on his own show with his own purpose that is similar to Buffy's, but also very different in ways that get more complicated down the line.

2023-05-19 08:31:49 +0000 UTCGod I love this episode of Young Justice, especially because of how many references it has to the original comic book. Honestly this show is more of a Teen Titans show. Aqualad, Kid Flash, and Robin are the three original members of the Teen Titans, Superboy's personality and outfit is more from his Teen Titans era(in Young Justice he acted more like Wally), and Miss Martian was introduced in a Teen Titans book. Secret however was one of the OG Young Justice members being the first addition to the comics team. Her story is more expanded and Harm was pretty different. Harm was also the biggest knight of cerberus for the show with the tone being very heavy in his issues despite the comic itself being more of a comedy series. The very first page of his introductory comic is the Artemis equivalent being stabbed with an arrow and saying 'Thus isn't funny.' Just a huge piece of whiplash from the rest of the comic that just imprinted on my young brain. Because of that I have a soft spot for Harm and Secret and so this is one of my favorite episodes.
