When this episode originaly aired (AOT) I was very annoyed because they were killing their friends who turned into titans.. which should be the saddest thing in the world. However this pop song thats blaring through the whole episode ruined it for me. Im glad that you felt the emotional weight of the episode, despite the song. :D

That's a you thing. Boring as a critique says nothing about the quality of the entertainment, casting/voice acting, etc. There are a lot of things that are "boring" yet extremely high in quality and overall great pieces of art/entertainment. Someone saying they were board by something doesn't tell me anything because it's 100% a personal thing and everyone has a different threshold for boredom. It's extremely lazy criticism and I'm assuming anyone who uses it as their central criticism has a short attention span.

Boring doesnt mean a lack of attention span it means that the thing boring the person provided nothing of interest and no entertainment value to the person that finds it boring.

Season one was legendary. I watched 2 episodes of season 2 and couldnt continue it was just too boring. They made a good call not watching it. Liked the first season so much i bought and read all the manga up to were season one left off but apparenty the story just gets super boring after that
