[Early Access + Uncut] Rocky VI: Rocky Balboa - Group Reaction
Added 2023-04-22 16:27:20 +0000 UTC
Happy Saturday Normies & Happy Earth Day! If you're still trying to figure out how to celebrate our Earth, I have some suggestions:
- Get outside and take a walk/bike 🚶🚲
- Plant a flower or tree in your yard or neighborhood 🌱
- Recycle! ♻️
- & most important of all, watch The Normies Rocky reactions!! 📺
Reaction: https://youtu.be/Rfkh3mGwWko
Uncut: https://thenormies.com/uncutmovies/ (pg. 11)
Apparently Adrian was written out of the movie, because in the original script all she would be doing is telling rocky not to do things, and Stallone felt like that was a disservice to her character, so instead he wrote her off as dying, and instead used her characters death as a major plot point, in a way that's much more respectful of the character than trying to force her into a bad script, the actress for Adrian Apparently also understood and supported the decision

Ryan Coogler was the one who came up with the idea for Creed. Stallone ha d to be convinced to be apart of Creed!

Not sure if your comment is targeted to me or the normies, but Ryan Coogler co-wrote the film with his friend, Aaron Covington (story, plot, etc.). Stallone contributed, but does not have a writing credit.

Stallone did not write the Creed screenplays, for the most part. He only wrote all of Rocky’s dialogue. He went on to say that across ALL these movies, Rocky never uttered a word that HE himself did not pen.

CREED was an idea of Ryan Coogler's. He pitched it, wrote it, and then directed it.

This is where rocky transformed into fighting for grief, life and fatherhood. All these hit before but they brought it into real world of boxing, where the previous could live in fiction, it humanizes him more…

I appreciate that suraj usually becomes aware of the excessive talking and reminds the others... probably pretty tough with so many people on the couch tbh but yea, every once in a while you go "damn, i dont think theyve heard any dialogue for the last 5 minutes" lmao

This movie is all about Rocky trying to find his place, as a person and as far as his own legacy. As you kind of realized, in the end the realism of his comeback to boxing isn’t really the point of the story. (Although Stallone was in incredible shape for his age here to be fair, and they do have Dixon break his hand which I thought helped make it a little easier to swallow.)
Characters like Steps and Little Marie are there for Rocky to have some kind of an outlet for all the kindness and love he’s always had for people, in a time where he has no one to give it to since nobody is really around but Paulie and his son doesn’t want to be around him. They’re also some of the only characters who treat Rocky like a person instead of a legend or a meal ticket, so they’re important for allowing us to see aspects of him and conversations he wouldn’t have with people trying to use/idolize him. Little Marie herself could also be seen as an example of the influence Rocky's original kindness in trying to help her out all those years ago had on her changing her life, and becoming the type of person who would repay that kindness with her friendship later in life. (Which makes sense in a movie about Rocky's legacy and lasting impact.)
On that note, I have to say guys, the relationship with Little Marie is definitely just friendly. I don’t know how many times they have to make it clear in the movie lol. He straight up tells her he’s not interested in her like that. She brings him a picture of his wife and that kiss feels like it’s just a good luck type of a thing. Sure at times she functions as a listening ear or advice giver like Adrian might have in past screenplays, but the relationship is not the same at all. I don’t know why it wasn’t reading friendly to you, but it’s definitely meant to be portrayed that way.
I will say it would help if you try not to talk over half their dialogue though lol… I love you guys but at times you were driving me a little crazy with that during this one. Sometimes it’s better to let the movie unfold than constantly try to guess where everything is going and making obvious jokes.
Not trying to be too harsh, I really did enjoy the reaction and I’m really glad you guys did these movies! I’m looking forward to Creed! Sorry for the super long post, I just felt like those were a few things you missed.

It's showing up now. I did not switch browsers, using MS Edge. I wonder if there was a caching problem somewhere. (Or the fact that this one is using Roman numerals? JK.)

Uncut only shows Rocky 5, not Rocky Balboa. Looking at it right now. Rocky 5 - Uncut is there, and the next movie is RRR 2022 - Uncut.
