2023-03-06 02:01:13 +0000 UTCIt's not crazy to know that blurred uncuts aren't sufficient for regular consumers. People watch reactions on their phones and want to be able to skip or go back freely. It's more crazy to expect people to sit down and watch on two screens or multiple windows on a PC.

Stopped the discussion with a solid 20 minutes left because what you where saying (while not directly) seemed pretty critical to understanding Eren (In ways I'm not sure we should yet) and possibly how things will end. Outside of correcting clearly misunderstood details in this episode or before I don't think you should have really had input. Sorry

Uncuts isn't a market substitute. Edited reactions isn't a market substitute. If you need the source material redistributed with a reaction, you're asking for piracy. Plain and simple.

2023-03-05 17:04:51 +0000 UTC@Sandeep - With all due respect, the ease or difficulty caused by needing to sync videos is irrelevant to the point I made. You claimed that Roshi and RT TV have never had a single issue with including footage, and I responded by pointing out that Roshi did, in fact, have an issue. I won't deny that syncing videos is a pain in the ass, especially when a series can be found on multiple different streaming services, because I agree with you. I'll usually watch the show on my TV and the reaction on my cellphone, but as you said, trying to fast forward, rewind, or even pause can get frustrating. With all that said, I can't blame them for wanting to avoid the risk of legal ramifications. As long as the Normies are upfront and honest about not providing full episode footage on their reaction videos, the onus is on us as fans to do our research before joining their Patreon. If the hassle of synching videos is a deal breaker for someone, so be it.

I remember last year because of their monetary changes, Vimeo asked content creators to pay thousands and in some cases over ten thousand for their content on remain on the platform. These changes were a big reason why their stock tanked. Unless things have drastically changed, huge content creators might have the money to deal with Vimeo but medium sized content creators like The Normies may have issues with that kind of platform. There's also the issue RTTV and Roshi have similar yet very different audiences compared to The Normies. RTTV and Roshi, at their core, are anime-centric channels. The Normies aren't.
