[Early Access + Uncut] Nope - Group Reaction

Comments

Why you felt the need to basically attack me with your words is BEYOND me. I asked a simple question to all who read my comment. Why does that make me an asshole? Or what about it made you feel some kinda way? Anyways, I liked your first comment better. Move on.

HIM

Here's what you said, Chief: "Anyone else get the feeling he's kinda... I dunno... reworking cult classics and movies that might not have been for the "average person"?" You clearly state it's not for you, the average person. That's fine and that's okay if it's not for you. However, you asked to everyone on Patreon as if they share in your narrow world view. No...a lot of people don't agree with even your basic narrative.

Chaos T

That's not what I said, Chief. I pointed out it wasn't my thing, so I couldn't call it good.

HIM

A film not being for you doesn't mean the film is mediocre or bad. It's just not your thing.

Chaos T

Signs WAS huge... but it wasn't a good movie, IMO, nor my families. I simply said it wasn't for everyone, like myself and others I grew up with.

HIM

The "only in America" stuff when describing things that happen literally everywhere in the world is pretty funny. It's the icing on a bad take, zero life experience cake.

Chaos T

@HIM This person's "opinion" consists of constantly talking shit about Americans and shit they clearly don't know about. Just check their history. Their entire being is a "bad take"

iJashin

I was about to say signs was huge everyone was talking about it. Mel was still in his prime.

Garrett Gee

Signs was huge when it came out. It earned 60 million on opening weekend and 270 million in the U.S.

Shawn Brink

Ah yes, immortality through mind transfer and a clone underworld are very grounded film worlds. This one is more of a spectacle, yes, but it's not lacking in metaphors, parallels and lessons that Peele continues to explore in his films.

Johnny Blue

i think Peele is much deeper than just reworking other movies. the layers and metaphors are what makes his movies into more than just an alien movie. Every movie he has made has a social commentary about it. Nope was not just about aliens, its about how we as humans make a spectacle of everything esp animals and usually just use it for money. if you look up theories and explanations of his movies, you will find some amazing stuff. his movies are always deeper. that being said, people like what they like, and if you don't like his movies, thats okay.

hantothenah8

Anyone else get the feeling he's kinda... I dunno... reworking cult classics and movies that might not have been for the "average person"? Nope = Signs/Evolution. Get out = The Skeleton Key/Body-swapping for immortality trope. Haven't seen any others, but including what I know from the K&P, both seemed to like a bit of a satire and hooking you with the anticipation, but the punches are weak a lot of the time. It's like the entertainment is the setup, but the punchline is just "oh okay πŸ‘". I just want to know if I'm alone on that.

HIM

Yeah, it is my least favorite so far but it was also my favorite to watch in the theater. The cinematography looked awesome on the big screen.

Bob M

I personally thought Nope was his least engaging film yet, but nonetheless Peele still demonstrates a genuine passion for big ideas, keen visual storytelling, and the exploration of cultural ethos that is hard to fully argue against. I just hope he pulls back a bit for his next feature and offers something a little more grounded, coherent, and emotionally charged like Get Out was. Still, great reaction for a solid film from you guys! Rana freaking out over every little thing never gets old.

Champion Bescos

OMG, Let this man breathe!😲 Flys to horse shit anytime there's a "bad take". It's called an opinion, and they cost nothing. So, pay them no mind.

HIM

Damn... when I didn't think your takes could get any worse you outdo yourself. Congrats.

Chaos T

It's kind of wild to see it as a spectator when someone makes an absolute fool of themselves online. It's almost like finding 20 bucks on the sidewalk. Just a feel good moment man

Dean Cyphers

Still one of the best self-owns in Twitter and content creator history. The irony of that guy not liking a film with those ideas and messages, and not seeming to really understand why, is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.

Derek Jolstead

Nobody needed to know this dudeπŸ˜‚

Blake

Damn, it's crazy how these content creators are holding you down and forcing you to watch these reactions.

Lurkingposter

You can always tell the type of person who would type something like this when they give tells like "this peel dude" lol
