Unwinding Wyrdwood S2 E8: The Tower (Part 2)

Night draws in and surrounds the tower, the only flickering light coming from this, the latest episode of Unwinding Wyrdwood! This week in our post show discussion show, Dungeon Master Johnny Chiodini and Oxventure Producer Zack Fortais-Gomm break down episode 8: The Tower (Part 2), the finale of Oxventure Wyrdwood season 2! Enjoy, let us know what you thought of Season 2 in the comments and we'll see again soon for more Oxventure!

I really loved season 2 it was amazingly fun, the fog was definitely the stand-out episode for me (I love splitting the party like that with personal horrors) but there was so much to love. The two part finale was incredibly epic, and can't wait to get hold of more Wyrdwood! (On a different note, with the behind the scenes content, as someone who has just binged through it all, it would be really useful to set these up as collections to make finding them easier)

I feel so proud of how far they've all come as players, both in the roleplay and the moment to moment gameplay aspects

Johnny is genuinely one of my all time favourite story tellers - and I mean on a par with JM Strazinski, Grant Morrison, Alan Moore and (despite his sins) Neil Gaiman. A tier that sits just below Pratchett and Tolkien. Wyrdwood is probably my favourite modern fantasy narrative right now and the only reason I don't just recommend it willy nilly to every fantasy fan in my life is that it breaks into dice rolling DND from time to time. I still recommend it to these people, I just warn them about the occasional bouts of dice rolling and spell descriptions.

Andy is in the same caliber of actor as Christopher Reeve, who portrayed Superman/Clark Kent in the 1978 Superman movie and sequels and did a phenomenal job of non-verbal acting that--for the first time, really--people got how Superman had avoided being clocked by Lois Lane or regular civilians. It's honestly pretty damn rare for people to be able to do that.
