The Deadlands Epitaph - Episode 8

Dear OX Supporters Club member, Oxventure would like to extend to you a most cordial invitation to the Deadlands Epitaph! This week Zack and Andy are discussing Chapter 8: A Man For The People, including the return of guest Jasper William Cartwright as Bison Billie, the appeal of a fancy party episode, and of course, sure to be new fan favourite character Aloysius. Please enjoy, let us know what you thought of the episode in the comments, and we'll see you back here next week for episode nine!

As cool as it is when we see a plan go off without a hitch and the players get to feel like smooth criminals, it's always endlessly funny when they wind up in situations where the dice have clearly gone against them and a situation gets royally out of hand- which has happened a lot this season, but I feel never more so than this episode. It reminds me most of all of the Cornelius Bagshot episode from Blades in the Dark where the whole plan when completely off the rails due to both a series of unfortunate rolls and perhaps a slight failure in forethought

I felt somewhat concerned when I saw that Aloysius had art - why is he important enough to need art?? :O Is he gonna show up randomly later and it turns out his "dad" wasn't real and he's actually some kind of gribbly monster who clocked the group immediately and has been stalking them this whole time? Dun dun dun... Also I'm wondering if we should be worried about the repeated use of tha "Man for the people" phrase...like, is that actually just a political slogan or is it some kind of more literal thing, as in "A man in place of other people because he disguises as them in order to control them or eat their souls or something?" After all, you use the word "for" when you want to swap/exchange two things (eg "I'll give you an apple for your orange"). Ominous...
