I appreciate the craft and effort and skill that can go into something polished but mostly it bores the shit out of me. I'm really enjoying my current practice, trying to find something that splits the difference. I like the bits that peak through and kind of show behind the curtain of process. Another thing I'm enjoying is trying to emulate imperfections of lens, how a viewer or a photograph might alter the view, I think this has some kind of interesting implications in my work in particular since most of what i explore ultimately has its roots in a fixation on masculinity and the gay male gaze.
A lot of fancy word for a dog man with his fat cock out. whatever. Kangaroo paws are my favorite flower.

Love this piece so much! The lighting is so nice! I know I have problems with over rendering thing myself so much that it looks fake. I think it’s totally correct to say extreme polish is boring. I like to use Boris Vallejo as an example. His art is rendered as fuck but man he doesn’t hold a candle to someone like Donato Giancola or the classic Frank Frezetta…
