Hello, my loyal followers and regular lurkers!

I’m not big on speeches, but I’ll try to be as transparent as I can.
The past few days I’ve been trying to engineer the almost perfect (nothing can ever be perfect) Patreon pledge tier as an alternative to the often disastrous and for a while now Patreon forbidden raffles. I also have been receiving messages asking if I accept commissions, to which I sadly have to say no because I (and I can’t stress this enough) want nothing to do with paypal, ever again period. That aside, the pledge I’ve come up with seems fair as fuck, I can’t poke any holes in it per say...  

Currently there are two pledge tiers: $1 and $2
So here it is, I present the $10 pledge  „For the People by the People” :

(People in this pledge tier  x/60)

• Submit your own ideas (2 scenarios per person)
• I filter and pick 15 best ideas (Based on creativity, originality and of course patreon TOS)
• I take the 15 picks and put them up for vote (if there are less then 8 $10 partons, then by default all ideas go up for vote).
• All Patrons ( $1, $2, $10) vote for their favorite (5 days).
• I make the TOP 3 winning idea animations and/or posters. (10 sec or more, depending wether I get carried away or not. also winners take priority over my own projects.)
• Repeat.

Elegant, isn’t it?
Let’s check the pros and cons over raffles, shall we?

• PROS:
  The Better your idea is the higher chance of winning.
  No risk of „wtf is this scat or tentacle BS” situations.
  Have a say in the outcome.
  
• CONS:
  Can’t think of any, srsly..

The only two things that bothers me about this is timing, specifically the top 3 thing. I know I could pull off 2 animations a month easy, not so sure about 3.. Maybe I could keep it top 2 at first and then over time add to it.. And then there’s the fact that patreon does the „charge at the start of the month” thing instead of charging up front. This creates that sniping situation that isn’t at all fair to the loyal patrons who stand by their pledge. Right now I’m dealing with snipers by blocking them individually, but I don’t know how long I can keep doing that.
