War of Rebirth - mystical combat

"The world is still. The chirping of birds is the only sound to be heard. It’s a scene of quiet. The skies stretch out with no clouds. The world is in void.

And then, the sky darkens, clouds swirl and writhe, wracking the sky with lightning and thunder. A fire engulfs the grasslands, a blanket of orange flames devouring the land, burning like a wildfire out of control.

As the last of the embers dies, the grass grows anew, more glorious than ever before. The world is reborn."

Hey folks!

Taking a quick departure from the City Themes monthly theme to instead bring you this mystical combat track! Thanks to TheGrinnerGamer, one of my Bard tier supporters, whose asked for a combat track with a Hindustani / Karantaka feel as the players in their campaign entered into a full scale war in a North Indian inspired land.

This one was a lot of fun to write, very different to my usual stuff. I tried my best to honour the original Hindustani culture that inspired this track by using appropriate scales, samples from real performances (both vocal and instrumental), and mixing all that with some of my own influences such as the driving synth bass sound which is one of my favourites at the moment. For anyone from / near the region, let me know how I did!

Alternate Versions

Bard tier supporters have two alternate versions to choose from:

- No percussion: This one still has a nice driving quality thanks to the synth bass and cellos which come in a few bars after the opening, but without the heavy intensity of the percussion

- Ambient: Stripping out both the percussion and the rhythmic bass makes for a very different track! Much more atmospheric, ambient, etc. Quite an interesting version!
