When the car goes in the water, you can see a big crowd on the shore obviously watching the episode being recorded.

Yeah, that's a great episode, some of the scenes in the courtroom are gold. I love the scene with Richard Wilson in the (I think?) second episode, where they all break into laughter out of character.

(This was always one of those 'marmite' shows when I was growing up. People either loved it, or hated it. Frank's a very potent character!)

Re the retro gaming thing -- 10 years ago I sold all my old toys on ebay and by far the most money came from the old video-game stuff. My Atari Lynx in carry case with games sold for almost a hundred. And my Sega Batman Returns cardboard promo shop-stand sold for 52gbp to someone in Japan. I was surprised!

I agree. His character becomes more developed in the 3rd series. (The motorbike episode was always my fave as a kid.) Frank adds new little mannerisms and becomes more assertive; I always thought he suddenly looked much older too -- slightly chunkier and less skinny.

IMO, the next 6 or 7 episodes are the best in the show. Series 3 takes place a few years after this, and you'll notice Frank's personality changes - he becomes far more confident, cocky and argumentative and loses a bit of his meekness.
