I hope so, Josh! The change may not be obvious straight away, as it looks the same, and may seem unchanged at first - overall, it's just general writing and delivery for me. Difficult to explain without detail so I'll say more at the end of the series (maybe a little more at the end of series 3, episode 1. đ).

2024-11-18 06:36:12 +0000 UTCI've not seen it for a while but I remember S3 being really bad in comparison to S1 and S2 so be prepared for that... I'd honestly say it's worth skipping like Blackadder S1 was... The type of humour in the first two seasons was pretty much cancelled for S3 due to cultural changes among the TV ruling elite... They went woke basically... Inbetweeners got away with edgy humour for a bit longer but this type of humour was made extinct in the UK after that sadly.

I think series 1 and 2 are really strong stuff but I have to say that I do feel this is where the quality ends for me. Series 1 and 2 were shown on BBC2 and as you've seen, the humour is pretty bawdy and writer Jonathan Harvey puts pretty much what he wants in the script. Series 3 (the final series) is where it moved to BBC1. I don't want to give anything away but please do lower your expectations. Not only is it less funny in my opinion, but the whole show feels different to me which is remarkable given the same writer and same actors remain. It's *kind of* been sanitised a little, but I'm not sure that's the main problem. I'll explain more once the show comes to an end but for me, Gimme Gimme Gimme is a show of two halves - excellent and outrageous series 1 and 2, and weirdly different but not in a good way, series 3. It'll be interesting to see what you make of it, Josh! đ
