Yeah it's a lot, I suppose because I watched it back when it first aired and understood it myself it just never occurred to me. In some ways I suppose it makes for an interesting reaction, it's just a shame he misses out on quite a bit of it. I'm sure he'll have learnt a few new horrible words and insults by the end though so that's always a bonus π

2024-10-06 16:17:49 +0000 UTCYeah I've not seen another comedy show that relies so much on humour about British celebrities and culture of that particular period when it was broadcast so it has aged more than most... As you said though, there's still a few other funny moments that everyone can find universally funny!

2024-10-06 16:11:31 +0000 UTCLinda said her dad owned his own 'council house' they're the words you missed (because of her accent I think) Basically social housing but some people bought their council houses from the government. I didn't realise how many jokes/words you were in this that would be hard for a non-Brit to get, even young British people would struggle with lots of the references I'm sure. I'm glad there are some parts you're still able to enjoy though.
