I think Martin was actually based loosely on Fred West and his police tapes.

2023-10-18 10:37:51 +0000 UTCI was aware of the Wests being serial killers but jeez I just read the wiki page and it's so much worse than I thought. Serial killers is too mild a label for them. Paedophilic incestuous filicidal serial killers is the bare minimum that should be used to describe them.

2023-10-14 16:13:33 +0000 UTC"If I was a dog I'd pee on her to mark my territory" π€£π€£π€£ One of the best lines. Remember hearing it for first time, my drink went everywhere πππ

2023-10-11 01:13:46 +0000 UTCThat moment when you think Kurt's talking about Kerry behind her back and you hear "Harsh!" Then the camera pans across. The timing on that was golden. I basically lost it, Huge coughing fit. π€£

2023-10-10 21:28:40 +0000 UTCI'm loving this show. He was peeping in the sixties, he was peeping in the seventies... π Felt sad for Kerry in this one:/ It was a bit close to home for me, I was a bit like that as a kid, desperate for my dad's love etc but I'm glad I gave up when I was 13/14 when I realised it was pointless lol. They did a really good job at showing partly why she's a grown woman but emotionally stuck at a much younger age, unable to accept he'll never be the dad she wishes he was. The writing on this show is fantastic IMO, always gives me The Royle Family vibes.

2023-10-10 02:28:03 +0000 UTCI love the conversation about the peeping in the caravan because Martin is their actual dad in real life and that must have been such a hard scene to shoot without cracking up π€£π

2023-10-10 01:34:13 +0000 UTCI peeped once in the 70s, and I didn't like it. I didn't like it one slice π

2023-10-10 00:39:48 +0000 UTCThis episode is dedicated to the memory of Alan Taylor, 1957 - 2017, who was seen running from the caravan.

2023-10-09 23:59:23 +0000 UTCFor all Josh knows, we may still see Kerry's mum π so I'm confirming nothing until the end! ππ

2023-10-09 23:50:28 +0000 UTCWas just about to say itβs like an American character being mates with Ted Bundy and saying he was a great lawyer Tay will know who the Wests are Josh, remember you saying ages ago sheβs into true crime with this stuff has come up before

2023-10-09 23:49:54 +0000 UTCMartin saying he was mates with Fred West always gets me "Sure he did some iffy things". No reaction to it from Josh so, Josh you need to Google Fred West and his wife Rose. Martin is so full of shit haha.

2023-10-09 23:47:51 +0000 UTCGreat reaction, Josh! Ah, this is the first really difficult episode to watch for its painful scenes with the awful Martin Mucklowe. He is absolute trash and you cannot help feeling extremely sorry for Kerry. The Kurtan/Kayleigh/Sluggs stuff definitely lightened it all up and was really amusing. The "bubbly" Kayleigh, who "lights up the room" looking incredibly uncomfortable and downbeat for most of the episode. π Can't blame her really. I can't imagine either of them are catches but given Kurtan's sparkling conversation, you can see why she may have thought Sluggs would do! π You're right though- she does look too young for both of them really even though they're playing younger than they are in real life. I'll tell you something about Kerry's mum later in the series. Not really a spoiler as such but as it's your first watch, Josh, better that you find out afterwards! ππ
