Taskmaster Poll

Wow, I can't stand Taskmaster but I've just ventured into these comments for the first time and, jeez, there's some very bitter TM haters! I've never liked the show so I was just checking to see when Josh would be done with it. But never, in all these months, has it occurred to me to come onto one of the TM videos and bitch about how much I don't like it! Josh is very fair in giving everyone the chance to end TM after each series, but the vote's always in favour of continuing. And, as much as it annoys me, that's fair enough! At this point, if you're not a TM fan it's easier just to let Josh get through the remaining series, then we can finally move onto something else *and* TM fans will be happy. Everyone wins!

This idea of you insulting Josh comes from the 'lap it up' comment, which came across like you are revelling in the fact that Josh is losing Patrons because he isn't watching what YOU consider 'good shows'. Wherever you look under any poll or new show, there are people who are ecstatic about the winner and people bemoaning it. On every single one. There is no way you could please everyone all of the time and the voting system isn't flawed, Josh goes with the majority. The issue is mostly coming from the fact that for one night a week, you don't have to be here, yet you chose to instead, try to show everyone why you think they, and by extension, Josh, is wrong. Sometimes it's best to just walk away.

I think it's not just the fact that we disagree on shows, it's also the fact that you get people who are very different interacting as a result, people who otherwise stay hived off in their separate show-specific communities. I am only here for the weekly Taskmaster at the moment, none of the other shows Josh is doing right now interest me. I love what Josh does, so I'm happy to wait until more are added to the list I like. Far too many people in this world like Colin Bayley make it a miserable place...

Well I'm not mad but it is a bit annoying isn't it. How long have we had Taskmaster for now? Were we in lockdown when Josh started it? And it's not like it's even still funny at this point any more. The humour in the later seasons is far too forced, it is way more scripted and the contestants are pitiful (look at some of Greg's fake laughing - embarrassing). Channel 4 churns out about 4 seasons of this bilge per year now because it's a cash cow for themselves and Greg Davies. Can't blame them though because the plebs still lap it up apparently.

Well, since I haven't seen a single reactor, react to Steptoe but I've seen that a lot are reacting to Benidorm, I'll assume that you are being serious. Steptoe is a precursor to stupid but clever British comedy like The Young Ones, mixed with Fawlty Towers, Only Fools and Black Adder (or something) Benidorm is just shit, in my opinion.

I agree. But it's not working as it should. Around 900 people didn't vote for the last poll winner. Why they are so passive? I don't know. There was a movie poll last year where you could only vote once. Only around 300 people voted. I don't have any answers. I'm just pointing out what I've noticed. It's part of my job to look for issues in operating systems and I can't switch it off and on. It's an observation.

Cant say season 11 is my favourite (although love Mike Wozniak), but its still better than a few past seasons, and 12 onwards (incl. CoC2) are all back on top form IMO :)

This is where it gets interesting. I'd definitely continue with Taskmaster. HOWEVER...if you're going in broadcast order, the next episode is the first New Year's Treat episode. If you're going in a logical order, maybe it's best to do the second Champion of Champions special (broadcast between Series 13 and Series 14). I'd personally go for CoCII, then Series 11. I wouldn't have a problem if the NYTs were all done right at the end once all regular series are finished. But if you're not going to do that, maybe try and keep consistent with when you do them, and broadcast order would make most sense there. Hope that doesn't mess things around too much, but maybe there's another poll in that, if TM is winning this poll by a landslide after a couple of days?

I kind of echo this, with you already being 2/3 through the UK 'back catalogue' of episodes already, and seemingly enjoying the trip so far. I'd half-expected the poll to be "Do I watch the Champions of Champions 2 episode before starting on Series 11?" when I got the alert for a Taskmaster poll.
