While Holocaust denial is not technically illegal in the UK, there has been at least one case of someone (Alison Chabloz) being jailed, using the law against "grossly offensive communications on a public platform", when she broadcast 3 songs about "Nazi persecution" and Holocaust denial.

The kooky novelty songs recur throughout the series because Matt Berry, in addition to being a fantastic actor, is also a brilliant musician - so expect many more to come! (he also composed the theme, which is called "Take my Hand" from his album Witchazel)

It's funny how when I was younger I felt like Bruce Forsyth was a bit of a joke, and that's why everyone took the piss. In recent years though I've realised the bloke was a national treasure really. I mean he was on telly for basically his whole life, with his first appearance in 1939 when he was 11, and his last in 2015 when he was 87. Such a warm, charismatic host too.

I was going to mention Bruce Forsyth too, it’d definitely help if Josh knew about him. It’s definitely not a spoiler, more like an improver.

Thanks bud, I did enjoy it and I am sure I will love it once I see more episodes.

I see what you mean bud. I am looking forward to this show I have heard it is hilarious.

Oh no lol

Awesome bud I am looking forward to it =]

After Work Reactions

Ha! Yes, that was a surprising appearance on ST.

Glad you liked it; it takes a bit of getting used to, but, as always, it does get much better as it goes on. Co-written by Arthur Matthews, of Father Ted fame, if you weren’t aware. Might be an idea to look up who Bruce Forsyth is before watching one of the episodes…

jon d

The cast really find their feet as it progresses. His Agent, Jane, is played by Doon Mackichan in the show proper. She really plays the character well.

PunchyPariah

Always found Auntie Val very attractive

Saul

This was the episode I watched, ages ago, and yeah, it put me off. I'm happy to see if it improves; the people involved are all great.

Saul

It shows how literal US comedy is that when there’s a dream sequence you think it’s the play Josh 😂

Kieran B

Did you recognise Clem Fandango from Star Trek Discovery?

Kieran B

So glad Josh enjoyed it as much as he did. The first show/pilot of any series can be tricky to navigate but this bodes well for the rest (when it gets even goofier and Toastier). I hope that the patreons that aren’t convinced by the first couple of episodes will persevere with it, the in-jokes and callbacks all the way through are a joy.

PunchyPariah

First time watching this, Matt Berry is s great as ever. Anyone else getting Mighty Boosh vibes? Something about the way it's filmed, along with the bizarre humour and musical numbers of course.

Kieran

I completely forgot one of the first things we see in this show is Matt Berry banging Auntie Val doggy style 😂
