Last I saw of Newman he was absolutely laying into Richard Dawkins in the most crazy, OTT way. He didn't seem mentally ill, he just seemed embittered and unhappy, but IDK the history.

Reminds me of the bill from inside no 9 when they’re talking about different types of piss 😂

David Baddiel along with his then Comedy partner Rob Newman were the first of the rock star level stand ups. They were also the first to fill massive venues. Though Sean lock was technically the first to play them as he was their warm up guy.
They fell out due to Newman having mental health issues.
Jo Brand was a very very angry punk rock comedienne with a number of series during the 1980s. She is now firmly in the national treasure category.

Ed is my favourite Taskmaster contestant, love how committed he is to it and genuinely wants to win!

I remember hearing stories when I was younger about the samples of urine collected from complimentary peanuts left out on bars, or mints left out in restaurants, perhaps that's what Greg was thinking of?

It was revealed on the Taskmaster podcast that the lasso task was intended to be a simple tiebreak task, but after seeing David Baddiel's attempt they decided it had to be included as a regular task!

Yeah, Woolworths suffered for a few years due to online shopping, and then the 2008 crash just killed it stone-dead exactly 100 years after opening. Other high street stores had gone bust in the past, but Woolies had been around for generations and formed fond childhood memories because they sold pick & mix sweets (penny candy?) alongside the boring grown-up stuff. That's why the audience liked the voucher, and why Greg decided to go off on one about piss-drenched pick & mix. (I tried looking up the study he mentioned to see if there's any truth to it, but all I could find was a story about a newsagent whose pick & mix was liberally sprinkled with mouse urine. Whether there were forty different kinds of it is, I fear, a moot point.)

Woolworths was a store here in the UK until it went into administration. It was all over, multiple in every town. If you're sort of, 26/27 and over you'll remember it fondly. That was a voucher that you could only use in that store.
