She was in I'm Alan Partridge and Saxondale as well.

You've probably seen Richard Madeley mentioned a few times as an inspiration for Alan. Here's a short clip of him going full on Partridge. I think that like Alan, he actually thinks he's Jeremy Paxman here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nd9YmdenPLg

The joke probably works on its own, but just so you know, the bit where Alan keeps asking the councillor "have you put up bus fares?" is him (pathetically) imitating the ex-BBC political correspondent Jeremy Paxman, who built a reputation in the 1990s for grilling politicians mercilessly in interviews, and once famously asked the government's Home Secretary "did you threaten to overrule him?" twelve times in ninety seconds without receiving a straight answer - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyqnu6ywhR4 Nice to see Vicki Pepperdine as the co-host of the morning show as well; it's probably just coincidence, but Pepperdine's comedy partner Melanie Hudson played Alan's French co-host Nina Vanier in the Knowing Me Knowing You episode set in Paris, so they kinda came full circle with that casting.

Brain fart for a moment there, despite the fact s2 is my favourite of Mid Morning Matters

He's got season 2 of Mid Morning Matters to get through yet. I'd like the specials to be watched after though.

Sam

Yeah, I think you should definitely carry on suggesting this Kieran. While Mid Morning Matters is great fun, the two specials are more realised (for want of a better word). I think Mid Morning Matters feels like the new writers Neil and Rob Gibbons are dipping their toes into the world of Alan Partridge, and always felt a bit Partridge "lite". The specials and the books/audiobooks especially are where they really shine, in my opinion.

Jay

As we’re on the penultimate episode… was wondering if you can include the two specials - ‘Welcome to the Places of My Life’ and then ‘Scissored Isle’ - they follow on from Mid Morning Matters (he’s working at North Norfolk Digital still) and they’re some of the best Partridge, seems like lots here agree too and there’s no other way you’d get to see them separately. Have a feeling you’ll really like them and they’re both 44 minutes long so not much longer than a normal episode
