Alan Partridge's Mid Morning Matters Season 1 Episode 3 Idiom and Inception

Comments

I think King Richard the 3rd would drive a white transit van because he murdered two children.

Alan’s sad stories is so damn funny, the story he makes up is just insane and it’s made more funny with that miserable music playing πŸ˜‚ and i love the dig he has at Orbital Digital, saying that convicts tend to listen to them because many of them have learning difficulties. I just wish the episodes were a bit longer, this show is Alan at his best for me.

James Ellison

That so a great job with this, I totally agree. πŸ‘

King Herod (the baby killer mentioned) was the one who ordered the murder of all first born sons of Bethlehem to get rid of baby Jesus. You might remember David Horton wanting to put a more sympathetic spin on Herod in the Dibley nativity :)

Yes. I bought these some time ago off YouTube around the same time as the Biography on audible was released. Quite a bit of material cut out of these versions.

Love how well researched this series is. The obscure Norfolk towns and villages which get mentioned actually exist. Also love the ariel shot of Norwich... my hometown. My house is just out of shot lol. Although not many can nail the Norfolk accents haha. I love the mundane and obscure subjects of the phone/text ins, really pretty accurate take on regional radio programmes and DJs. One little thing is that I bought these episodes on YouTube and there is quite a bit more material. Still great to see the reaction though. This is peak partridge for me because the radio stuff is some of my favourite material.

And the orbital digital DJ had a small part in KMKY Christmas special too

I wouldn't have known this if you didn't pause the credits in that exact spot, but apparently one of the callers was the same actor who played Michael in 'I'm Alan Partridge" and "Alpha Papa" (Edit: You actually just identified him yourself! good ear, I wouldn't have known that without seeing his name in the credits!) I noticed it a bit in the first two episodes, but much more in this one, that these versions are edited down from the full versions, the King & Car section seemed to go by a lot quicker, a few lines were cut out. Also, this is a bit random but can anyone identify the song that was playing as Alan was trying to book tickets for Inception?

Ben

When you paused the credits, it listed who played the callers. One of them was Simon Greenall who played Michael in I'm Alan Partridge, so you were right. Rebecca Front who played a guest in each episode of KMKY was one of the callers last week.
