The twisting idle stance gets rejected for its unnatural bounciness. However this will still be reused as a backup for a possible windup attack.
Going back to the idle stance, we wanted a more relaxed and subtle animation.

But still ended up rejecting as there's way too much head bobble and the tempo is still bouncy and dancey. Sigurd as a fighter, and Boxing 101, you should never put your hand down.

Here we finalized and approved the idle stance movement and will soon be scheduled for cleanup and coloring. Not all sprite animations will be this tedious, but since this is a stance players will often see (along with running animation) it should look the smoothest.
Later on, attacks and other fast paced motion will get some exaggerations and lesser frames, so those should be much easier to do. The slower the animation, the harder it is to convincingly pull off.


Some info about Sigurd's Chaotic transitions. Ingame, once you fill up Sigurd's Chaos bar, his arm will color shift to a more fiery version. Basically it is like overheating and this impacts his battle pace, power, mood and personality.
It is in a way berserk mode or jekyll and hyde but he wont be losing sanity, perception or all of himself. Its more like getting from sober blue to rummy red. His convo and actions towards the girls will be different in each states as well.
Sober blue is gentleman, often shy, disciplined and serious. Rummy red is aggressive, lecherous, tactless and overconfident.
Ingame, this can be taken advantage of. His natural blue state will give you a more balanced fighter, so if your attack damage, say is about 100. Reaching and staying in chaos mode will randomly output that downupto (is that even a word?) 1-200 damage instead.
A drastic and chaotic spree of glanced to ultra critical attacks, they will be faster and absurd to look at. His idle, run, basic attack loop will have a separate chaotic version of sprites for this mode.
Staying for so long in chaos will be beneficial and harmful with fluctuating risk / reward ratios, but as soon as shit hits the fan, you guys can always press the button for chaotic eruption, releasing and converting the chaos energy to be stored or be used as a finisher.
Normally, Celestials like Mahalai, Siggy and the mutated redheads like Sigurd can go on for days with no required sleep or rest. But the chaos that resides within Sigurd often drains him to both body and mind break, so he needs to often sleep eat and rest under the sun like a plant.
There will be separate sober blue idle stance where he will be sleep idling as well to depict this. One of the planned temporary disadvantages for abusing chaos.
BSpike and I had some change of plans for the first 3-5 lewd scenes. Since story and scenarios won't be done anytime after i finish the gameplay essentials (map battle encounter, 1 boss fight, basic upgrades)
The lewd scenes for Fivryl, Oubbe and the other NPC's will be story based and it won't make much sense to start the lewd scenes with them without setting up the event story first.
At the same time, BSpike wants to do some initial ease before animating the main course to build a bit of confidence transitioning to porn animation.

I should probably call it Bootleg Brothel, but yeah the idea is to bootleg a famous game or anime character to get fucked up ingame. I personally love Android 18, so first bootleg babe design will be based on her and just change it up a bit homework meme.

Anyway, some other news concerning BSpike: His transitioning to swf to nsfw has been quite a challenge but he's excited and eager to learn for it. His current roadblock is animating cum since he never done anything like it before. But I gave him a fuck ton of references and learned a lot from it. (Disregard the cum animation up there, it was scrapped for something much better now after seeing the references.)
That said, he was so in to doing the lewds and knowing his contract will end from his former employee this month, he did a lot of practice but ended up slowing down on his old employment.
SADLY, he would not be able to get paid from all of his last animations unless he finishes the final sets there. He asked for some time to finish them and will be going part-time for now for us until that gets settled. (Even threatened with breach, so it left him with no choice)
It's very hard to find quality animators nowadays and I'm sure most of you know the dire situations that are happening in Japan from arson, suicidal animators and the toxicity of the work in general. Those situations are further amplified here where animators and illustrators get paid even lower than $200 a MONTH.
Settling previous employment woes, I can feel how stressed the guy is, therefore the decision to shift the lewds to Bootleg-Brothel for the time being is a good solution for his practice and transition to porn.
Worry not, though as he'll be staying with us for good and actually found challenge and joy making lewds. A discovery that I'm sure must have been as mindblowing like the first time you came from wanking. lol.

In some other animation news: I will also be doing lewd animations!
Honestly doing game design and coding for some months straight got me a bit burned, so I'll spend the whole month of September animating. It will be ingame but it will not get in the way and be inconsistent with BSpike's animations.
