I joined the channel after the poll ended (or found it too late), but I wanted to give a shout out to keeping Upstart Crow on the next show poll. Following a hilarious, insecure but gifted Shakespeare is a real hoot.

2022-05-20 09:41:17 +0000 UTCSo happy that it looks like Black Books is going to win, fingers crossed... Bill Bailey is a national treasure and a very underrated actor too... This show will be right up Josh's street... He'll love it. ... Hopefully we'll see Men Behaving Badly in contention in the near future as that will be a good reaction show and the Toast of London is a great laugh, all be it a little surreal... Loads of good stuff to watch yet.

2022-05-19 21:48:42 +0000 UTCI'm currently watching both of the Ronnie Barker classics, Porridge and Open All Hours, after last watching them as a kid and I'm enjoying Open All Hours much more, which I'm very surprised about... Porridge is nowhere near as funny as I remember but I've not got past the first season so maybe it gets stronger... I'm loving Open All Hours though... It's held up really well but still has a wonderful nostalgic feel about it and each eposide, baring one or two are consistently strong... I very rarely use the word 'genius' but I'd give Ronnie Barker that accolade.

2022-05-19 21:36:33 +0000 UTCMy choice is The Thick Of It, but I'm happy with Black Books.

2022-05-19 18:22:43 +0000 UTCI'm surprised Porridge isn't doing better

2022-05-19 17:54:46 +0000 UTCIf The Thick of It wins, you're in for a very sweary, fast paced treat

2022-05-18 21:57:52 +0000 UTCJosh really should have watched KMKY directly before I'm Alan Partridge, it's such a shame he was talked out of that, people were impatient and wanted to start IAP right away.
Ben
2022-05-18 20:13:13 +0000 UTCYeah I was one of the patrons who made that suggestion directly to Josh, that one day a week will be a "Josh's Choice" day. When I mentioned it in the comments a lot of people were very enthusiastic about the idea, and when I messaged Josh about it he said he'd consider it, but that was almost six months ago now, so I'm not sure if it will happen. I do hope so though, I also live in hope that Darkplace will be chosen, it's just 6 episodes and is one of the funniest and creative shows out there. I understand it getting low votes as it's relatively obscure compared to some other shows on the list, but I hope that the patrons here do themselves a favour and check it out, then come back here to give it a vote! It's just six episodes, not a big commitment!
Ben
2022-05-18 20:11:11 +0000 UTCAs always, here for Darkplace! Think it's been suggested a lot but a day when Josh gets a free hit of what he wants to watch would be good, imo. Because there are some criminally underrated shows in amongst some right tripe - please no Come Fly with Me repeats... And if you haven't seen Darkplace, go check it out on More4 or whatever it's called now :)

2022-05-18 19:59:31 +0000 UTCLife's Too Short and Knowing Me Knowing You are doing very well all of a sudden.
Keith Pratt
2022-05-18 18:57:23 +0000 UTCI enjoyed The Young Ones but I think it's quite a different beast to Bottom. It's much more topical, satirical, Anglo-centric, and of its time. I think Josh would enjoy it to a level but I think some of its appeal has lapsed since. I think Bottom is a bit more timeless and accessible to international audiences.

2022-05-18 17:04:39 +0000 UTCI am fine with Black Books getting the win, I like black books, actually most stuff on this list was pretty good so I'd be fine if this or most of the other things won
mrtheevilmage
2022-05-18 16:02:07 +0000 UTCLooking like Black Books then. I'm happy with that. I watched the first 2 series when it came second in the last poll and enjoyed it. Today I watched S03E01 and it's the funniest episode so far. Also been re-watching Men Behaving Badly from the beginning. I was told it hadn't aged well, but I disagree. It gets better as it goes on and series 4 is a scream. About to start series 5. I've been watching it on Amazon Prime and it's rated 7+! Surely a mistake, ha ha!
Keith Pratt
2022-05-18 15:10:51 +0000 UTCI guess the group's grown quite a bit since Bottom was originally voted in and the film polls don't have much quality imo.
Joe Gardiner
2022-05-18 11:09:20 +0000 UTCcmon lads and ladettes , Young Ones need to be shown to josh , he loved bottom!

2022-05-18 07:37:21 +0000 UTCSo glad Mr Bean is over! Now, rise up Black Books!

2022-05-18 07:31:18 +0000 UTCCould Luther be added to any of the next short show polls please mate? Only 20 episodesπ

2022-05-18 07:28:50 +0000 UTCHello I am not sure if there is a master list somewhere where these poles are derived but if so can I suggest not going out a comedy starring lee mack to be added to it.

2022-05-18 01:35:34 +0000 UTCJosh has definitely seen that.

2022-05-17 23:55:01 +0000 UTCI agree that we should be looking at branching out and considering US shows. I'd love to see you react to Married With Children.
Christopher Horner
2022-05-17 23:52:15 +0000 UTCIs Mum by the guy who wrote Him And Her? I really liked that show.
Saul
2022-05-17 23:09:42 +0000 UTCAgreed. I love British comedy, I'm very proud of how strong our history is in that respect. But I think we're already scraping the barrel as it is with some of the shows purely because they're British. Is The Vicar Of Dibley a better, more worthwhile show to watch than Arrested Development or Curb or any number of non-British shows? Please, lets branch out before stuff like Some Mothers Do Ave Em starts getting voted in, I'd hate to foist that on Josh. I know it's democratic but if the last half six or seven years have taught us anything it's that democracy is a fucking mentalist.
Saul
2022-05-17 23:05:53 +0000 UTCBlack Books is so bad. I have no idea why people are voting for it. They must have not seen it and have heard that Graham Linehan created it who made Father Ted and IT Crowd but is in no way anywhere close to those elites.
Josh B
2022-05-17 23:03:30 +0000 UTCSame! I know Josh has seen series 1 and 2 - and he may have really enjoyed it - but it's not for me at all, and there are some great series on here! My top two picks are Black Books and Psychoville. Black Books is 100% Josh's humour, and Psychoville is a must given we've had TLOG and we're currently watching Inside No. 9 with him! :-D May as well complete the trinity and Psychoville is truly wonderful!
Ash Jeffries
2022-05-17 23:03:28 +0000 UTCPlease, just no more f***ing Afterlife. I can't take it.
Saul
2022-05-17 23:00:00 +0000 UTCI disagree.
Josh B
2022-05-17 22:59:55 +0000 UTCI'm curious as to why so many voted for Bottom but never vote for Young Ones. Its arguably a better show in the same style with the same people π
Danny
2022-05-17 22:58:20 +0000 UTCSome great options on this list: Black Books or Psychoville are my very top two picks. Love many others though: This Country Porridge Mum Bad Education The Thin Blue Line Sick of It I honestly think Karl Pilkington's Sick of It is one that will sadly get nowhere near the votes it deserves but is so ridiculously up your street it's not funny. Except it is! Very funny! Black Books would be so refreshing. So unlike any of the other shows currently running, and again, really your sort of humour, Josh. It's a perfect balance of dry and silly comedy and just a whole heap of fun. A few I don't care for, not least After Life. I know it's popular among the general populace, and I know you've seen series 1 and 2 - and may well have really enjoyed it - but it isn't my cup of tea at all. I think it's important that whatever show wins, it's one YOU are going to enjoy though! :-D
Ash Jeffries
2022-05-17 22:58:10 +0000 UTCPlssss This Country! I will eat my socks (Tasty!) It is such an underrated show and such a good bit of British humour
Sam
2022-05-17 22:55:49 +0000 UTCI'd still like to see Life on Mars (16 episodes) added to the short poll.
Sam
2022-05-17 22:55:38 +0000 UTCEveryone, having watched black books twice out of boredom, it's very meh , we can do better as a group , cmon people vote for literally anything else π
Matthew
2022-05-17 22:52:39 +0000 UTCBlack Books or Porridge for me, then the choice begins to get a bit thin. Lots of newer and older less popular shows that wouldn't draw much interest for the reaction. I think some American shows should be considered, maybe just the first series of them because they are usually much longer shows. Also something like the Top Gear specials would be great to react to. However they might be too long, so perhaps having them on the movie list like the Bottom specials were might be a good idea
Ed
2022-05-17 22:22:28 +0000 UTCporridge is great show, and the young ones is amazing as well
john mccarthy
2022-05-17 22:13:25 +0000 UTCGot to be Psychoville for me. It coincides perfectly with Inside No 9 so it's the best possible timing for it.
Jack Morgan
2022-05-17 21:54:45 +0000 UTCNice to see Bad Education getting some more votes this time round. Seems it may win eventually. Some good choices are leading anyway so either way it's good content coming up.
BazMan01
2022-05-17 21:52:17 +0000 UTCDude, you gotta include yes prime minister in these. It totally fulfils the 2 season criteria as its its own spin off from Yes Minister. And you dont need watch yes minister to get whats going on.

2022-05-17 21:42:40 +0000 UTCLet's go Black Books!
(Just) Steve
2022-05-17 21:39:23 +0000 UTCDoubt Mighty boosh will win it, one day I guess. I'm going for life's to short or knowing me knowing you. I'd love to see Rock n Chips on the poll, great throwback to Only Fools n Horses.

Josh B
2022-05-17 21:14:36 +0000 UTCAlso to plead my case for Psychoville, if it wins it negates the problem we have of one of the episodes of Inside No 9 being a Psychoville sequel, we will finish Psychoville before we get to that episode!
