"Oh..thats just Mig.. He's not real" then offers the guy a coffee so casually. Noone does dark humour quite like Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton. Plus the fact that they reel you in from the start and even though its the same two guys every episode... they pull it off every episode by making you think "shit, whats this guy doing" like its not even them.

I think this episode is a pretty good advert for the series and an early standout. Episodes like this, I find, really stick with you and definitely benefit from a second viewing once you know the outcome. The writing is subtle, intricate and nothing short of genius - everything is hinted at, hardly any lines are wasted. As has been mentioned by others, it's not a laugh-a-minute type show and different to your usual reactions, but I'm glad you're enjoying it, it's very unique and I think quite special that shows like this are still being made in today's trends of long-form drama and binge watching. As a little bonus fact: Conleth Hill, who plays Stevie, Tom's friend, is actually the actor who plays Elsie, the Smurf in Car Share! (although you'd never realise without seeing his name in the credits)
