Playthrough Progress
Added 2017-05-25 10:41:30 +0000 UTCI've finished The Dungeon levels 1 to 10 (killed almost everything), and currently taking a stab at The Vinery. I'm noticing that, after a certain point, the enemy groups are all pretty much a pushover. My little group is mowing them down like they're nothing.
To a certain extent I believe this is a good thing. There is a mild difficulty curve when you first reach The Abyss, and it helps so much when you can go back to The Tower and scoop up those stained glass shards.
But also, to a certain extent, it's a bad thing. I feel like I should improve the enemies from all the areas, from levels 6+. I believe this would help bridge the gap between chapters 3 and 4, because I feel like some of the later monsters are going to be much more difficult than the early Abyss mooks.
At any rate, I'm going to keep going. I think it would be worthwhile to try and rush to chapter 4 as fast as possible, and also attempt some of the bigger bosses that are accessible in chapter 3 (namely the Caverns bosses and monsters, like the drakes).
For anyone playing through and wanting some early Abyss advice, first go back to the classroom and teach classes for a few days. This will bump up the early levels fairly easily. I also suggest getting the clothing upgrades as fast as possible for your preferred characters. After that, try to go back to The Tower so you can get some more stained glass shards. Getting fire spells for the whole team helps a lot, and intelligence upgrades will really smooth things over. :)
I'm also noticing that enemies with spells are a much bigger threat than those without. I feel like their exp value should be bumped up accordingly.
