2022-01-05 03:22:06 +0000 UTCJosh, if you were puzzled by the gag around 5:00 where Rimmer was flexing his fingers, Subbuteo is an old tabletop football game where players take turns to flick plastic model footballers around a cloth "field" with a small, lightweight ball. As there's a Subbuteo tournament coming up, Rimmer is exercising his fingers in the same way that footballers warm up their legs before a match.

2022-01-04 23:40:26 +0000 UTCThis is a good episode, reminds me of the early days of red dwarf with the post pod like in better than life. By the way the names Roy and Haley were used because they were the names of characters in Corination street and Haley did use to be a man in that.

2022-01-04 23:10:53 +0000 UTCThis episode and the series XII episode 'Timewave' are the only two episodes of the Dave era incarnation of the show which I outright dislike. In regards to this episode, I particularly dislike the whole 'Cat needs a shit' subplot and Lister calling his ex-girlfriend a "slag" as an episode punchline, but the entire episode is poor and feels very much like filler. It's also interesting to note that they had to reshoot a bunch of scenes on green screen for this episode, after the sets had already been dismantled after principle photography had wrapped for series X. You can tell which scenes these are because the bunkroom backdrop is clearly a separate element to the actors.
