Red Dwarf Season 8 Episode 5 Krytie TV

Comments

God, I just can't get Rimmer's grimace at the end of the show out of my mind because he looks like the Milhouse frown (https://bit.ly/3mhkR3q). Yeah, crap episode. So few actual laughs. And Killcrazy is the worst character. Like many people have said, it's "Carry on.. in Space".

My biggest gripe with the return of the character is that it was bizarrely cast. In my opinion, if they could not secure the reprised services of Clare Grogan, they shouldn't have bothered. And if they forged ahead anyway, they should at least have tried to cast someone with a passing resemblance, in any way, to the former. Failing that, the least, the very, very least, they needed to do was cast someone who could do a Scottish accent. Grogan as Kochanski had a strong Glaswegian accent. Allowing Annett to use her own accent from the posh end of London, and yet still mention being from Glasgow, is not just a continuity error in my assessment, but an unjustifiable departure from canon. It just makes no sense. Was she the only actress to turn up? I'm sorry, I don't mind the character returning in some form, but I can't understand how anyone can be happy with her being portrayed by someone who neither looks, sounds, nor acts anything like the character as established.

I think we need to get Josh a custom t-shirt with โ€˜Chaotic Jimโ€ written on it. Phenomenal work inventing your own characters there Josh ๐Ÿ˜‚

Oh my god, i never got "the post arrived" joke... and i've been watching Red Dwarf frequently since a kid... I need to question my competency in a lot of things now.

James

I'll admit I wasn't really a fan of the Kochanski character when she was added as a full cast member. I also never bothered to watch the show past the previous, but that had nothing to do with her character. I did read a comment complaining about the writing of her character for this series. All I'll say is I do see it presently.

Daryl

That was the funniest part of the video for me. I certainly don't find anything in series VIII funny but Josh getting the name wrong and saying "Chaotic Jim" was a blessed laugh inducing moment.

Right Said Brett

Killcrazy is the character you were thinking of, who supposedly reprogrammed Kryten. Personally I think "Chaotic Jim" is better. In fact I think I'd watch any show that had a character called "Chaotic Jim". XD

Izzy of Albion

Certainly take this over the next two episodes.

Manly Stump

Actually the funniest bit lol

Balkyne

the bit where Lister places his pubes in Rimmers Hand always makes me laugh, especially Rimmers little reaction

Adam C Turek

As filler goes this is enjoyable

Balkyne

To be honest he might've just been surprised it actually worked haha

Balkyne

Lister says Itโ€™s Kill Crazy who got to Kryten and changed him but Kill Crazy is as surprised as everyone when the guys with the buckets show up. Also, 3 hours in the shower?!?

Handheld Games

The episode with ace Rimmer is dimension jump and the one with Duane dibbley is Back to Reality. From memory you didnโ€™t think Body Swap was one of the best.

Handheld Games

I always thought the same. The only explanation I can come up with is that Peterson preemptively filed an appeal on Lister's behalf. That's just headcanon though. In reality, I think it's just sloppy writing (in series VIII... surely not!).

Right Said Brett

What doesn't make sense with this episode is that he received the letter about his appeal for guitar strings at the same time as finding out he had no guitar strings. So how would he have done it? XD
