Bit late but an underrated horror/comedy from New Zealand is Housebound

W Martin

Hi everyone, there is a series that is linked to this it stars the two police officers. The programme is called Wellington Paranormal. It’s pretty good and is a mock documentary style also.

BR90s

Damn, I haven't seen this so I was really looking forward to watching it at the same time as you. Did not have enough time to watch after work, so was going to do it today, but was not able to load from any of the options. Sad now.

tania P. Bear

Sounds great. It may be better for a future poll but I also would like a reaction to one a presume some would disagree with, Oliver 1968. I love the comedies but as we've seen, the occasional different genre fits nicely.

Contex - It's Just A Ride

People may disagree with me. However, i would really like to see a reaction to the Harry Potter franchise as it is a really special film series.

ChazWalker

Glad you watched this so the TV show can go on the poll. But please can you also add Wellington Paranormal, i knew there was a creation link but it follows the 2 police officers in this movie in the same Documentary style

Tom Lin

Stu's my favourite character, he can stay

Adam C Turek

Hahaahaa! That was brilliant!

Andy Farmer

Love this film, the show is the exact same energy. the actor playing the foppish vampire also directed Thor Ragnarok and played Korg. Was also in Mandalorian.

Adam C Turek

Brilliant movie. I hope you get to watch the TV show at some point as well, Matt Berry is fantastic in it. I'll also suggest adding Wellington Paranormal to the list, it's a spin-off that follows the two cops in the movie. Think of it as a comedy version of X-Files. Speaking of X-Files, did you recognise the leader of the werewolves? Rhys Darby is the main "antagonist" in the season 10 X-Files episode 'Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster'.

(Just) Steve

Should also recommend Hunt for the Wilderpeople; sweet, funny little film.

Saul

I avoided the series for a while because I was afraid it was just a recasting of the movie, moved to the US for the American market. But it's not that and I'm glad I started watching it. You can definitely see bits of the pilot that they borrowed from the film but it becomes its own thing very quickly.

Graeme D

I love the whole conchords/waititi style of humour, it's so subtle. A lot of the time all it does is take something very dramatic and serious and just bring it down to banal reality, and that in itself is always funny. Vampires trying to use google. Werewolves worrying about getting their new clothes ruined. Bathetic. A lot of people had been going on at me to watch this film; I'm glad I have, it was excellent. Melancholy in parts too. I'm looking forward to Matt Berry joining the cast for the series. I'm guessing Waititi and Jemaine Clement aren't in it; they got pretty big and they're really busy. So it'll be interesting to see how it connects with the film.

Saul

Bro you should definitely react to the original Pink Panther films with Peter Sellers.. You will love them!

Stuart McArdle

Awesome man! It was hilarious!

After Work Reactions

I have to check it out I hear it is awesome.

After Work Reactions

The TV show is just as good as the movie.

Spooony

I think I have too, but right at the end I somehow always forget and I have to watch it again.

Tony Smyth

That werewolf that goes to run after the fake stick throw 🤣😂

Alex

I absolutely love Nick's deadpan reaction to the supernatural horror he's subjected to. Describing his situation; "It's like... oh no I'm ... I'm dead". and of course Stu is a legend, no wonder they all loved him. Josh, please consider Flight of the Conchords for the polls, it's some of the same people who made this, it has similar humour, but with characters you get to see week after week. It's fantastic, I think you'd really enjoy it, especially if you liked this movie.

Ben

So glad you enjoyed this film, Josh. I love comedy horror when it is done well, and this ticks all the boxes,

Rob Thompson

Oh yes, suggested the WWDITS TV series way back when and Flight of the Conchords, hopefully both will make it eventually

Kieran B

Any Flight of the Conchords fans on here? Would love if it was on the list

Never seen it but judging by what I've heard should be good 😀

PoPaDoMZz

One of my favourite films. I've watched it so many times

Liam

Love this movie. The tv series is just as good so I hope this increases the chances of it getting picked in one of the polls!

Jack Morgan

Yes! Fantastic movie. Can't wait to watch this when I get home tonight
