Dude Nessa isn't playing games, she is still wild even though she might be pregnant. She's still smoking, boozing, and licking stripper dongs lol. She's probably thinking I'm not going to miss out on a good time for a maybe lol. I look forward to hearing why the uncle is bent out of shape about the fishing trip. I bet it's something that's not really a big deal, but the uncle is so wholesome and dorky he's turning it into one.

2021-08-17 10:02:53 +0000 UTCSomething to bare in mind now the fishing trip has been bought up. There’s subtle hints throughout the series that uncle Bryn could be secretly gay. His reaction to Smithy jokingly giving him a kiss, the comments about Gavin being a lovely looking lad, and just his general behaviour and expressions when he’s around young men. You’ll notice if you look out for it.

2021-08-16 23:16:20 +0000 UTCThis episode always makes me smile as I lived in Cardiff for a couple of years and had a fair few nights out there. When Nessa mentions Caroline Street, it's a bit of a blast from the past for me - locally known as "Chippy Lane" as it's full of fast food outlets which are swimming with drunk people in the small hours.) The infamous "Fishing Trip" saga has started and it's a solid unspoken joke that they keep running for a while. I can't actually remember if they ever confirm it but it's been a while since I've seen the show to be fair! I love Nessa's "I'll have a pint......of wine!" - funnier for a British person I think as we drink beer / cider in pints where the USA doesn't as far as I'm aware. Wine is never ordered in pints though.....unless you're Nessa. :p Chinese Alan is just called that because of his love of Chinese food but as we'd only heard his name up to this point, the assumption is that he's actually Chinese.....and then he walks in as a local boy. *LOTS* of pop culture references that would go over most people's heads unless they grew up in the UK in this episode. I do think G&S in general is such a British show but I also think British comedy in general is far less "international" than American comedy. It isn't to say I have watched an American sitcom and not got a reference, but I just think they're written with an International audience in mind where British comedies are written for a British audience predominantly..... we're selfish like that! Haha! Great reaction though, Josh! As I've said many times, the characters, the overriding mood and humour of a show is what's mostly important and we're here to fill in any blanks when it comes to culture references! It's a sweet and very funny show G&S and I look forward to continuing watching along on here with you!

At least they did at the time, around 2006

Also the boys’ nicknames, some are very rude knowing what a few mean here in London. Ah, Pop Stars…. wow, that takes me back. Noel is mentioned a few times, and not to mention some surprise cameos.
