I agree man it is a total bummer I have enjoyed this show so much I am sad it is going to be over. I will for sure rewatch this at some point, I do cycle out older shows while eating dinner or chilling out.

After Work Reactions

This episode was great man I loved it. This show has gotten so good I am bummed about it ending soon.

After Work Reactions

Oh wow that's crazy man. That is a super long wait. This was a great episode though so I hope it was worth the wait for you all.

Del was very out of character in this episode, another one I didn't like. Del would have always given in to Raquel straight away, but they have him acting like what they turned Rodney into here.

They're also anti-mask covid-deniers now too!

Joe Gardiner

Ok awesome thanks bud!

This is from the Christmas edition of the Radio Times, 1996. I've missed out the plot. Only Fools and Horses: Heroes and Villains Wed 25th December 1996, 21:00 on BBC One First of three new episodes in the comedy series starring David Jason, Nicholas Lyndhurst and Buster Merryfield It's three years since we last met the Trotters, but tonight they're back for a three-part mini-series that may prove to be their swansong. David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst took time off from A Touch of Frost and Goodnight Sweetheart to be reunited with writer John Sullivan for two months, during which they worked round the clock to record the latest adventures of Del Boy and Rodney.

Keith Pratt

Yeah, you were absolutely meant to think the gerbil was in there. That scene was so well known the term 'bunny boiler' became commonly used for crazy stalkers!

David Lyons

I think the Christmas Day Specials can fall back on the fact, most people have probably had a bit to drink before watching. Part of the memory of these shows for me is watching them with my parents and grand parents. Not going out, I guess plays a similar roll today, and as much as I like Lee Mack, it isn’t 1/10th as well written as even weaker OFAH episodes.

Gary Tamblyn

I think the series was at its best when they were stand alone episodes, but I understand why the writer changed to a rolling story format. The characters were getting older and they had to move on with their lives. I think Cassandra fitted well, there had to be a bit of a character clash there to have something to write about. John Sullivan spent many years writing Just Good Friends, so had a lot of experience writing romantic comedies where the couple don’t always get along.

Gary Tamblyn

I’d say it’s not really much of a reaction series to watch, Del Boy isn’t really a fully developed character in the series, and there’s no young Rodney. I guess he planned the series to run for a few years, sadly the writer died after only writing three. I certainly would avoid the sequel sit-com “Green Green grass” with Boyce and Marlene in it. I suppose after more than a year of OFAH it would be worth rounding things off with these 3, before moving on to whatever wins the next poll. But like Ste says, lower your expectations. 🙂

Gary Tamblyn

Hi Josh, to provide some context, there was now a three year gap between this episode and the next three specials where all of the next 3 were shown over the Christmas period of 1996. These were hotly anticipated by the British public as it was the first time since 1981 where there had been such a gap between episodes, thus culminating in the record audience for a sitcom these next three received on any network for any television show in British history, a record which still stands today.

Paul Holt

This came out 5 or 6 years after the film Fatal Attraction. Hence the name of this episode, Fatal Extraction. If you haven’t seen it I’d recommend it. Some of the references will make more sense if you do. Perhaps one to add to your Sunday list 🙂. One joke you didn’t get was when Del turned around and was face to face with a large busted woman at the bar. He thought he saw ‘Right said Fred’ who were, sort of, a pop duo back in the early 90s. If you search them out on Google you’ll get the reference. (Hair style). PS. this was a Special that came out on Christmas Day 1993. Series 7, and basically all the series already ended back in Feb 1991 (the episode before Miami Twice). Sad it’s all coming to an end very soon.

Gary Tamblyn

This is one of my favourite episodes, just has a lot of funny moments. The joke about Raquels clothes only looking fashionable when she watches uk gold- ironically I’ve seen this episode a lot more times on uk gold than on the bbc. This kinda an end to that era of the show- now on the finale trilogy which was really meant to be true authentic ending. The 3 millennial specials they did after that had their moments and were good especially the last 2 and the very last episode ties things up well. It also could have easily ended with the initial finale trilogy but the writer John Sullivan felt he had a few more episodes in him and wanted to show the trotters in the new millennium…

Jehan Ariyaratnam

Although I'd say lower your expectations I'd still like to see you react to the OFAH prequel specials - Rock & Chips. Just so then you can say you've seen everything OFAH related. Fun fact James Buckley aka Jay from the Inbetweeners plays young Del

Ste_UTB

It'll be sad when you finish it Josh; it's been a ride. But maybe you'll start watching it semi-regularly like the rest of us do, haha. I like having Only Fools on as background tv whilst painting miniatures or levelling in Warcraft. It's just such a comfort.

ALW

This was a good Christmas episode. I think the viewing figures were around 20 million which must of been around a third of the population at the time. That just shows how popular the should had become int the 90’s

ChrisW

Right Said Fred were a music duo comprising of two bald men, just so that helps you get the joke haha!

Christian Le Surf

'What's wrong with you, you moron?' Aw poor Trigger 😂 that part cracks me up. The next three episodes are gold :) They did a good job of making that Beverly seem really creepy, to me when I was a kid lol.

BelladonnicHazeyJaneII

Don’t know if you’ve seen the movie Fatal Attraction but the Del & Beverley scenes are referencing that film (hence the play on the title) including the famous scene where the psycho lady boils the guys daughters pet rabbit in a stew pot. Anyway really looking forward to the next 3 as they are the classic trilogy from Christmas ‘96 and are among the most famous in the whole run of the show.

Ben Marshall

Heroes and Villains next week! Can’t wait 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

AWR93

There are some very funny moments in this one. In particular when Trigger walks into the dentist. Even when I knew what was coming, I still lost it. The timing is simply perfect in that moment after building up the tension. But, over all, minus a few highlights, comparatively this is probably one of the weaker specials and episodes in general for me personally. Still any OFAH is time well spent in my eyes.

Daryl

Charlie Slater involved in the riot. Go on son lol.

will doyle

Google does list them as part of series 7 for some reason

Kieran B

My favourite trigger moment!

Manly Stump

Just to be clear Josh, Season 7 ended 3 episodes ago. They've all been specials, including this one.

BertFredStan

A really funny episode but I dont like the plot tbh, because they already did that type of story with Rodney when he broke up with Cassandra. Still lots of great moments. Great reaction, as always. 👍

Matty Bate

Peak John Sullivan this for me, the writing is incredible

james poole

This show has been so up and down for me since Cassandra entered. They changed the Rodney so much I haven’t liked him. A funny experience for me because i grew up with the later episodes, but now they’re my least favourite. In fact most of series 6 and 7 I’ve hated. I really like Raquel and Del, I think Cassandra was a big mistake though, making Rodney miserable isn’t enjoyable. I still think the Damien devil cuts they do with Rodney are so out of place.

You have to wait for Google to process the drive one. Come back in 30mins. Media fire is a download not a steam Onehub should work, perhaps still processing too.

Joe

Trigger: “Why ask?” 😂😂😂

AWR93

Receptionist: What’s wrong with you, you moron?! Trigger: Oh just a couple of fillings.

Lee

Can anyone else not get any of the links to work?

Craig

Rock and Chips was terrible.

Mick Mills

Are you reacting to Rock and Chips straight after Only Fools, Josh? It was three specials that show a young Del and family, really worth a watch
