As Josh has pointed out, this is his *short-term* show poll. So, 24 episodes max. OFITG is 42 episodes. Josh has already said he'll put OFITG on the next long-term show poll and a lot of patrons have been advocating for it. Patience :-)

It's a shame One Foot in the Grave isn't an option. I'd absolutely love to finally see someone react to that show - No one ever has. It's a slightly surreal and sometimes dark comedy. Although I'm very glad The Thick of It was an option. It's a satire of the inner workings of the British government, though I'd actually trust the characters in that show to govern this country a great deal better than the set of inept clowns who actually are running the show here.

Im not sure if it fits into the theme of what shows your looking to watch but a personal favourite of mine is Plebs. Its a weird one to describe but its very british and although is modern in the way people talk and act its set in rome and is a comedy. 5 Series total and around 6 epis each so a very short and fun show, be sure to check out some clips on Youtube.

This is the first poll in which none of my choices are breaking the top 5, oh well, I guess I've been spoiled since joining this patreon! I've always had 5 out of 7 shows throughout the week I was a huge fan of. Well, I'll still have Peep Show, and occasional episodes of OFAH (Great show I just don't follow it as consistently) and of course I'll be here to see Blackadder Goes Forth! And I live in hope that some day Black Books, Boosh, Spaced, Darkplace etc. will make the cut!

If you want to take a break from Alan Partridge but still want to scratch that itch, I'd recommend The Trip, starring Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon. A delightful little semi-improvised road trip comedy/drama about two friends (each playing exaggerated versions of themselves) bickering with each other as they take on the job of amateur food critics.

I do think Porridge, The Good Life, Yes Minister, Not The Nine O'Clock News, To The Manor Born, Butterflies, Dinnerladies, The Royle Family, Outnumbered, Gavin & Stacey & Open All Hours should be given a look-in as well. All Comedy Classics, most are still very popular, and 7 out the 11 shows I've listed here are still getting re-runs on TV. Top 3 of the ones I've mentioned: 1) Porridge [x3 Seasons, 21 Episodes + x1 Sequel Series (x1 Season, 6 Episodes) + 1 Feature Film (93 Minutes)] (Stars the legendary Ronnie Barker in his prime. A Prison sitcom from the mid-to-late 70s. Iconic show, they tried to remake it for the modern day, but it pales in comparison to the original. Like Fools & Horses, it always being re-run somewhere on TV.) 2) Gavin & Stacey [x3 Seasons, 19 Episodes + x2 Christmas Specials] (Probably the most popular one I've listed here. James Corden's public image and career gets a massive boost from this show. He co-wrote and co-starred in it. The last special aired in 2019, and gained a massive following of 18.5 million viewers at the time!) 3) Dinnerladies [x2 Seasons, 16 Episodes] (Often overlooked and forgotten about sitcom from the late 90s. Every episode written, directed and starring Victoria Wood. Fantastic writing and acting, live studio audience, and still gets the odd re-run on TV.)

Guys, we're nowhere near scraping the bottom of the barrel. Jesus, I can't actually believe some of the snobbery on here. Josh has reacted to fewer than 10 British comedies, yet you're now saying he's seen enough UK comedy that he's close to scraping the barrel, or at least the last few bits on the sides. I absolutely adore so many US comedies - Curb, It's Always Sunny, South Park, Veep, Seinfeld, Arrested Development, Flight of the Conchords, older stuff like The Larry Sanders Show. US TV at its *best* can be subversive and brilliant and better than a lot of UK comedy. No argument there. But that's not to say that we're even CLOSE to exhausting superlative UK comedy. Some of the shows people are being so snobby about - Mr Bean, One Foot in the Grave, even Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em - are actually incredibly well-written pieces of comedy that have been successful the world over. The latter two aren't even part of the bloody poll, yet seem to have provoked some people's ire for some reason! I'd love to see Josh react to some of my fave US comedies, but for better or worse he's crafted a Patreon and a fanbase that really appreciates him reacting to British comedy. So before we jump so readily to the other side of the Atlantic, perhaps we should let him carry on with his poll and react to some more classic British stuff? Looks like Phoenix Nights is winning, anyway: as someone from Blackpool I adore it, and in any case it's acclaimed enough that it's more than deserving of his reaction. This has been a great community up to now, so it's a shame some people are so quick to look down on others' tastes. Comedy's a spectrum and there's much more out there to appreciate than just the narrow band you're used to.

I agree with this and think it's the only flaw in Josh's short-term/long-term show poll model. He's already watching "I'm Alan Partridge" and loving it, and yes, there are the two other traditional TV shows: "Knowing Me, Knowing You" and "This Time with Alan Partridge". However, what Josh isn't perhaps as familiar with is that TV is much more diversified in the UK and not reliant on any one network. Hence, there's the Fosters Beer-sponsored Alan Partridge web series "Mid Morning Matters" which was then picked up by Sky. And, of course, the one-off Sky specials, "Alan Partridge: Welcome to the Places of My Life" and "Alan Partridge's Scissored Isle". I'd far prefer Josh to finish the Alan Partridge oeuvre. He may have the other TV series in his poll but where do one-off TV specials like "Places of My Life" and "Scissored Isle" sit? They're not series and they're not movies, but I think we can all agree that we want Josh to watch them!

Mate you need to include Come Fly with me. I know you said no sketch shows but there are little stories that run throughout each episodes that are not covered in one sketch. So if you was to watch one sketch on its own you might not be able to see the other part to the mini story. Also, come fly with me has been more or less eradicated from YouTube due to all this banning stuff going on and you can only really find whole episodes on dailymotion etc. Would hate for you to miss out on such a funny show. Especially as it’s only 6 episodes so it wouldn’t take long to get through. Little Britain is different, although the episodes are very funny, each sketch is like a singular sketch and doesn’t run through the whole episode and they are much easier to find to watch. Also as an unrelated point, Porridge would be a classic one to watch, also includes David Jason.

Would be great to see What We Do In The Shadows on polls again, was glad to see it after I recommended it before. It is better if you’ve seen the movie, for one or two scenes at least but not essential. Just to second some others, would definitely think the following could work for reactions* Royle Family Inside No 9 Fresh Meat Porridge Gavin and Stacey There’s stuff I love and would recommend trying like Detectorists but don’t think it would work too well as a reaction. Royle Family is borderline but ultimately I think it would work.

The fact that Mr. Bean and the Vicar Of Dibley are on here is terrifying lol. Each to their own I suppose! I think there is too much nostalgia going on for the Young Ones. Saw it again a couple of years back and was amazed how bad it was. There are a couple of funny(ish) moments per episode, but it really hasn't aged well at all. Glad to see that Nighty Night is on the list. It looses its way in the second series, but Julia Davis is disgustingly funny as a narcissistic sociopath. As others here have mentioned, I think Black Mirror, despite not being a comedy, is definitely worth a reaction (except the last series). Inside No. 9 has a lot of mentions, and I agree that the show deserves a reaction as some of the episodes are some of the best written and directed TV you'll likely encounter, and certainly rival the best of Black Mirror despite the difference in budget, but truth be told, a lot of the episodes are pretty flat. As for suggestions for future lists, I believe What We Do in the Shadows should be brought back, although I think you need to see the movie first. I also suggest the Royale Family, Hello Ladies, Game On, and Operation Good Guys. With those last two mentions, I'm definitely feeding off of some nostalgia as I haven't seen either in a long time and not sure how well they would hold up to scrutiny now lol. Anyway, I'm mainly rooting for Spaced, Dark Place, League Of Gentlemen, Black Books, Life's Too Short, and Green Wing.

Not an out and out comedy, but agree that Black Mirror is good, Josh will like the episode USS Callister, being a Trecky. I think Toast of London is closer to Josh’s sense of humour than a lot on the list. The musical interludes are a bit weird, but otherwise really funny show. Never seen Inside No 9, I think the TV trailers for it, put me off, will watch out for it.
