I didn't expect to see Tim McInnerny (Percy) in this season. I just assumed if he was going to be in this one I would have seen him in the first episode. Like a dork, forgetting he could make an appearance a few times similar to Hugh Laurie in season 2.It was cool to see Chris Barrie from Red Dwarf as well. While watching this for the life of me I couldn't remember his name. Chris Barrie is such an easy name to remember too. I almost said Chuck Berry when he first appeared on the screen lol. This episode was decent but I really enjoyed episodes 1 and 2 more.

I do however think a lot of Blackadder's reputation hangs on series 4, including one particular scene which isn't even funny, and the iconic characters in the show as a whole - when Blackadder shines it really shines, and that's what people remember. Admittedly series 2 wasn't quite what I remembered it to be. Series 3 still holds up though - against what an average sitcom is/was like it's still pretty damn good IMO.

2021-01-27 23:54:24 +0000 UTCOut of all of the shows that Josh has been reacting to, Blackadder has been the most disappointing for me so far. And I'm not sure why? Bottom, Fawlty Towers, and Alan Partridge are all older shows, which I've seen a lot, and they still amuse me. I was never a big fan of Only Fools and Horse, but I'm enjoying them more now than I did when I was younger. But Blackadder, which I absolutely loved as a teenager and a young man, is just leaving me flat this time around. I'm a huge Red Dwarf fan, but never liked the first two series, but I even find these far more enjoyable than Blackadder. Again, I'm not sure why, but the show doesn't really amuse me anymore. Anybody else having this experience for any of the shows they used to love?

Putting 'contrafibularities', 'pericombobulation' or 'interfrastically' down on a scrabble board will get you looks, not points lol.

After looking into it more they aren't proper real words. they were made for the show, but in a sense they are made up of real words to create a new meaning that makes sense to those words. Just like now , for example, when people use words like "frenemy" to describe friends who are also enemies. In Blackadder a word like Pericombobulation: ‘Peri’ can mean ‘around’, and this seems to be combined with ‘discombobulation’. The meaning could be something like causing someone to go around in uncertain, needless circles.
