It for sure is a sad episode, your totally right though it does show a different side to Del. I really enjoyed that episode.

The last episode of grandad. But a great episode, shows you exactly why del boy is how he is and the pressure it put in him when his dad left and del had to pick up the pieces. Del isn't just a brother to rodney, he's almost a father to in an odd round of way. I only started ofah with uncle Albert at first but went back to how it started and nothing actors bring something great to their roles. Glad you're enjoying ofah Josh.

I haven't spoilt anything? It's been mentioned quite a few times on the OFAH comments that Grandads character is coming to an end and even how it happens. People spoiled that for Josh pretty much at the beginning and he's even mentioned it himself. I wouldn't have said anything if I didn't know he already knows.

Was very sad to see Grandad go but I always did like uncle Albert more, both were great but I grew up more with uncle Albert and they made him a lot more comedic than Grandad.

Really good episode. I think you're spot on with your assessment of why Del's like he is. I love how protective Delboy is of his mum's memory. Can't believe we're starting series 4 next week! I have to agree with you :) I watch every day and enjoy everything he's watched/watching so far but I do find myself looking forward to Fridays the most. No matter how many times I've seen OFAH I never get fed up of it. It's so rich in comedy AND emotion that you can't help but love it and the characters most of all. It's great seeing an American's take on it as well. I thought Josh would like it despite some of the very British references because his sense of humour seems very like ours. And it only gets better from here, so many great moments to come :) Such a great programme. I can't think of a show so well loved and which appeals to so many different generations. Just going by my own family, I'm in my 30s and I love this. It was my grandad's favourite programme, he'd be 85 now. It's my mum's favourite, too, she's in her 50s. My youngest cousin has just gone 18 and she grew up on it and still loves it too. Loving rewatching every episode.

The difference between Del and his father is showed at the end when even after everything Reg did to Del he still put money in his pocket.

I think Uncle Albert’s first appearance is in the second episode, looking forward to seeing what Josh thinks of him!

Great take at the end Josh regarding Del versus his dad. Another way of looking at it is Del is like a Salesmen on a really generous commission whereby you know he is over-hyping what he is selling or offering you something at unbelievable price, but the worst case is you end up with something worth its value whereas his dad was a straight up conman.
