Happy new year and new you! That's a little outdated and old, isn't it? We're not new just because it's a new year... but it is a time that a lot of people think about making improvements to their lives.
For me, it's the little improvements that make a huge difference. Starting by adding a few minutes of meditative silence to your day, adding yoga to your repertoire, or maybe it's having a full glass of water [with lemon if you fancy//looking to cleanse!] first thing in the morning.
I always notice how Monkey wakes up in the morning - he loves his sleep and is typically snoozing long after I wake up! He slowly blinks open his eyes, yawns, slowly stretches his neck, and then yawns again. Chonk (he has a lot of names) then inhales deeply and stretches in a way that looks like up-dog (yoga shape you'll learn about!) before promptly exhaling snot all over my face.
It's cool though, he does it each and everyday, so I close my eyes before the sneeze. But in thinking about his slow and gradual mornings, following his body and intuition, and waking up his muscles, I'm reminded of our need to check in with ourselves, and probably do the same.
Chunko and I are pretty stoked to bring this community wellness tips, guided meditations, yoga practices, and honestly what ever else you're looking for. I'll be putting up polls, and want to hear from you about what you want to see and learn. Knowing that I don't have the answers for everything, but I'll always honestly tell you that, and try to find the answer. So let's nerd out, get weird, and get well!
