I'm slightly late with this page (I want to make Fridays my update day) bc I've been doing some con prep for Kaicon Twilight Sydney next week!! as well as the usual commission work.
Here's a sketch I did of the Brain as pictured above:
The Wyvern's main computer, which handles all of its flight, movement, and weapon systems. Sensor data from the Wyvern's body is transmitted electrochemically to the Brain, which processes it and then sends this information via afferent neurones to the pilot's central nervous system. The pilot is then able to mentally transmit motor impulses via efferent pathways in order to move and control the machine. Sensations such as sight, touch, hearing, smell, temperature, proprioception, balance, velocity, and pain are all shared with the pilot to varying approximations. The pilot is also given the ability to sense infrared/ultraviolet wavelengths, ionising radiation, magnetic fields, and other normally invisible phenomena when connected to the Brain.
Biocomputers are typically supercomputers, using either binary, quaternary, or octal numeral systems represented by synthetic nucleotide analogues. Programming "wetware" involves an amount of molecular biology expertise. Biocomputers are favoured for spaceflight due to their power, stability, reliability, storage density, and ability to self-optimise and self-heal.
Inspo for the Brain's design includes the Apollo Guidance Computer and probably a good amount of cyberpunk material![]()

Thanks for looking!
