2025: Results

It is that time of the year again to look back at what the last 12 months delivered. Let's begin!

Sanny Builder 4

2025 marked the 20th anniversary of Sanny Builder. Two major releases shipped this year: 4.1 and 4.2, building on ideas introduced in 4.0.

Some highlights:

• A built-in code formatter

• A reworked options menu

• A new spread operator in the language

I also launched a new Translation Tool to simplify maintaining and updating localization files.

CLEO 5

CLEO 5.0 was released this year, followed by several stability updates. New features and fixes included:

• Built-in logging

• A new Input plugin

• A long-standing TXD memory leak fix

Adoption is still ongoing, but interest is clearly strong. CLEO 5.2 has surpassed 100,000 downloads on GitHub alone. A recent Discord poll showed clear demand for continued development in 2026.

CLEO Redux

Interest in CLEO Redux increased significantly in 2025, with several teams choosing it as the foundation for total conversion mods. Combined with user feedback, this led to a higher development pace: six releases in one year.
Recent updates focused on resolving long-standing issues, and the project feels much more solid going into 2026.

• Interactive San Andreas map with zones, paths, and additional data

• Continued contributions to GTA SA Reversed (slow, but steady)

• SB Tutorial website redesign

• Started 100-SCM-Functions, showcasing new Sanny Builder features

My personal GTA Modding Event of the Year: the release of VC NextGen Edition. The team behind it did an incredible job bringing an entire Vice City storyline to GTA IV engine.
