October Q&A and Feedback

And as always, if you have any feedback and suggestions for improvement, please let me know!

hey! sorry for the late reply, I didn't see the notification. Here we go: For traditional work, I mainly use a windsor & newton artists’ watercolour sable round no 1 brush, a dip pen with nikko nibs, and pebeo India ink. for digital work I use a few brushes in CSP. I enjoy the look of traditional inking the most so I try and replicate the texture when working digitally. Most of my inks have been digital lately, largely due to convenience (space, money, cleanup etc). Manga recs: Dungeon Meshi/Delicious in Dungeon by Ryoko Kui Fullmetal Alchemist by Hiromu Arakawa Golden Kamuy by Satoru Noda Black Jack by Osamu Tezuka Monster by Naoki Urasawa Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko And for “aesthetics” or style… I tend to really study the look and feel of certain anime and manga to find what I like about it. I like making collages of art, screenshots etc so I can look at things as a whole and eyedrop colours from it. Much of it comes down to palette, texture, and style of inking. There’s a broad stylistic range in the 80s-90s era, so i’d recommend you to go out and watch some anime!

Also, What manga do you recommend to someone who's trying to get themselves more into reading manga? Got any suggestions? Can be pretty much about anything btw! AND one last thing, do you know how to apply certain "Aesthetics" into your work? As in- your work truly gives an "This is anime influenced, from the 80-90's" and I wish to accomplish the same with my own influences, but I keep struggling with the whole "What I wanna do" vs "What I think I NEED to do" I don't know if the questions are clear btw, sorry! Love your artwork man!! Thanks in advance!
