Held within the belt is the purest and most primal essence of air: flexible, free, yet strong in forcible bursts. The belt draws air into orbit around you in a slow swirling vortex.

Belt of Primal Air
Wondrous item, legendary (requires attunement)

While you wear this belt, you have resistance to thunder damage, and you can hear whispers from up to 30 feet away.

Weight of Air. While wearing this belt, you can cast levitate on yourself at will using an action. While you benefit from the spell this way, you can spend 5 feet of movement to escape from nonmagical restraints and grapples.

Airburst. When you are hit by a critical hit, you can use your reaction to create one of the following effects:

You allow yourself to be pushed up to 15 feet away from the source of the attack.
You release a burst of air in a 10-foot radius sphere centered on you. A creature in the area must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or take 2d8 thunder damage and be pushed up to 10 feet away from you.

DESIGN COMMENTARY

The first item from another set of elemental items, though these don't combine or do anything too special - just a set of items with (hopefully) unique properties. This belt was a bit of a struggle to design (how many ways can you design belts???) but I think the cyclonic grooves made it more unique.

Edit: After some consideration, the primal element items have been altered to Legendary rarity instead of very rare. Damage resistance simply equates too easily to the rare armors.
