Voidspan is a new material for this themed compendium. In searching for weapons that slay elementals (as would be needed if primordial titans are on the rise), I realized that nothingness is the opposite of what the four elements (in this fantasy) represents. The Null Reaver is a slightly more special version of a voidspan weapon. It's got a cool look.
---
The voidspan in this weapon thrums with the constant clash between nothingness and existence. As the opposition to the physical matter, voidspan tears apart elemental creatures on contact and makes excellent instruments for slaying elementals.

Null Reaver
Weapon (greatsword), rare (optional attunement)
Voidspan. This magic weapon is forged with voidspan, the material antithesis to the four primordial elements. This weapon deals an extra 1d10 force damage to elementals.
Sunder Matter. When an elemental within 5 feet of you successfully recharges an ability in its stat block, you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against it using this weapon. If you hit, the elemental must re-roll the die used for recharging and must use the new result.
Optional Attunement. If you attune to this weapon, you gain access to this additional property. While you wield this weapon, you can use an action to cast darkness from the weapon without requiring material components. A creature touching or wearing an object made of voidspan can see through this magical darkness. Once cast, the spell can't be cast again until the next midnight, unless you expend 5 hit dice to cast it again.
