[Primordial] Weapon - Arcstratos Shard

Welcome to the new month! This month, the most popular theme was PRIMORDIALS, aka elementals. It's funny because we just explored an air theme and now we'll do a little more of that. There's usually 3-4 posts released on Mondays, but I was a little busy with other work/life, so they'll come out 1-2 days later this week. The week after shouldn't change. 🤞

This first weapon is one of a set of five, and took maybe 6 hours to re-think and tweak (part of the reason for the delay tbh). The Primordial Harmony property won't quite make sense until you've seen the others, but the progression scaling was a tough one to crack. In the end, the base dagger is slightly stronger than other items of its rarity, partially due to its ribbon properties, but should be acceptable considering the d4 damage die. I trimmed as much as I can to keep it around the rare level.

Unless I decide otherwise, this dagger will be central to this month's "story." In summary, primordial titans awaken individually in a cycle to ravage the world, but last cycle, some heroes unwittingly slew them all and upset the cycle. Now they're all back at the same time. 😎

This dagger is one of four weapons wielded by the heroes of the last Awakening, used to slay the primordial titans before their disaster can befall the mortal realm. Its blade is condensed air embedded with a prime air crystal, pulsing with soft mist and crackling with lightning.

Arcstratos Shard
Weapon (dagger), rare (requires attunement)

To attune to this weapon, you must spend the duration of the attunement period at least 1,000 feet above sea level surrounded by open air.

Blade of Air. While attuned to this magic weapon, you gain the following benefits:

• You can speak and understand Auran.
• You deal an extra 1d4 lightning damage to targets you hit with this weapon.
• You have resistance to lightning damage.
• After you throw this weapon, it flies back into your hand whether it hits or misses its target.

Elemental Boon. While you hold this weapon, you can use an action to cast levitate from it, targeting only yourself. Once cast, this spell can't be cast from it again until the next dawn.

Primordial Harmony. The Arcstratos Shard is one of four weapons created to tame the primordial titans, the others being the Eminence Spire, the Infernus Halo, and the Torrential Lash. This weapon grants you additional benefits while you are also attuned to any of those other weapons.

• This weapon gains an additive +1 bonus to your attack and damage rolls equal to the number of the other attuned weapons, up to a maximum of +3.
• This weapon's extra damage increases by one die size for each of the other attuned weapon, to a d6 for one other weapon, a d8 for two other weapons, or a d10 for three other weapons.
• For each other weapon you are attuned to, you can cast the spell granted by this weapon's Elemental Boon property one additional time before dawn, up to a maximum of 3 times.
