[Tools] Weapon - No Safe Arbor

Welcome to the new month! I gotta admit I wasn't exactly sure where this month was going to go when I first threw it out there. I knew I wanted to focus on the artisan's tools, probably a couple uses for them, and perhaps something else "mysterious." I settled on a series of tools that could be used for covert "missions" a la hit jobs, with a generally lower profile. Some inspiration taken from the Freemason conspiracies - master artisans being mercenaries/assassins are a pretty common trope.

Each item relates to an artisan's tool (finally your character's tool proficiency is useful!); they're designed to be relatively simple at the rare rarity. They all double proficiency used for the skill, which normally would be quite strong but given how rare such checks are in most games, it won't quite disturb the meta. I'm also cognizant of D&D One looming in the future, so who knows if this will even be relevant then?

No Safe Arbor kicks it all off. The flat bonus is pretty much mandatory for these weapons, as is the bonus damage against plants (this should help chop trees faster). Throw in a simpler version of tree stride and the magical nature of the weapon is complete!

---

In the hands of a master carpenter, this hatchet can fell many, many trees. If a tree falls in a forest and no one hears it, especially if the tree was the zealous king of a sovereign nation intent on throwing resources at a fruitless battle to slay the ancient dragon, does it make a sound?

No Safe Arbor
Weapon (handaxe), rare (requires attunement by a character proficient with carpenter's tools)

You can use this handaxe as carpenter's tools for felling trees. While attuned, you double your proficiency bonus to ability checks made using carpenter's tools. Creatures unaware of the handaxe's properties initially perceive it as a simple tool and can use an action to recognize its true purpose by succeeding on a DC 15 Intelligence (Arcana or Investigation) check.

Lumber Hatchet. You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon, which deals an extra 1d6 weapon damage to plants and plant creatures.

Tree Step. While holding this weapon, you can use a bonus action to slice a rift into a tree and step through, emerging from another similar tree within 120 feet. Both trees must be living and at least the same size as you. You must spend 10 feet of movement to use this property, appearing in an unoccupied space within 5 feet of the target tree. Once used, this property can't be used again until the next dawn.
