[Ranger] Item - Veil of the Hollow

Everything Ranger can't be all bows! This one is for the rangers who deal with places of the dead, and includes an interesting addition to probably the least-used feature Primeval Awareness. It also allows rangers to reaction-cast death ward with 3rd-level spells - very helpful for surviving in battle.

This veil drapes softly across the head and seems to gently waft in an invisible breeze. These veils are worn primarily by rangers of the Veil Watcher conclave who travel the Astral Sea between the planes of life and death.

Veil of the Hollow
Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement by a Ranger)

To attune this veil, you must have traveled through the Hollow Plane (or any other plane of souls) within the past 7 days. While you wear this veil, you gain its benefits.

Sense Across Veils. When you use your Primeval Awareness feature, you also learn the precise location of any undead within 30 feet of you. If you precisely detect any undead creatures this way, you can immediately use a bonus action to cast hunter's mark from the veil on any number of them even if you cannot see them. You do not need to expend a spell slot to target the first creature, but must expend a spell slot of 1st level or higher for each additional creature you target. You maintain concentration on all spells cast this way simultaneously as if they were one spell.

Before the Passage. When you are reduced to 0 hit points, you can use your reaction to expend a spell slot of 3rd level or higher to drop to 1 hit point instead. If you expended a spell slot of 5th level or higher, you can immediately make one weapon attack with a weapon you are holding. You can use this property a number of times equal to half your proficiency bonus, and regain expended uses when you finish a long rest.
