Hi dear Patrons,
it's been a while - unfortunately I've been having some health issues lately and needed to take things slower. Nothing serious, but being sick isn't really compatible with freelancing, and I want to change the habit of "just pulling through" with work as I've learned that it significantly slows down the healing process.
Right now I'm catching up on several unfinished projects, two of them with a Japan focus. So here's a little Japan infused update! :)
My poster illustration for the Lausanne based Japan Impact convention is finished. I'm very happy with the cute and warm vibes that is meant to underline the main topic of the upcoming edition: gaming for all generations!

I will also be there with a table, for the first time ever! If you happen to be around on February 15 or 16, please say Hi and let me know you're a Patron, I'll let you pick a free print! :)
The bookshop illustration was meant to be finished by now and I wanted to upload the second part of the walkthrough. I had to push it back a bit, but here's a current shot from the progress.

Coloring this one is a little tricky, as I have a light source illuminating the house, but also artificial light sources inside the buildings, visible through the windows. I want to create a bit of a late afternoon twilight situation, which needs to be balanced out in a very delicate way.
I'll look into it and share my process and thoughts on this once the artwork is done, but I hope you appreciate the little insight today! :)
Wishing you a nice and cozy December - cheers!
Stefan
