"The Seed" Pages 1-4

I'm back from my trip to Austria, it's been so great to hike the mountains and enjoy the nature for a couple days! Now I'm directly diving into a very hot August, and I don't just mean the weather! 🥵 My todo-list has been filling up quite a lot, with some interesting offers in my inbox. So now I got to balance writing quotes, discussing terms, managing my schedule. And of course doing the actual work. Just freelance things. 😅
On top of that, I'm drawing my contribution for the Mirrored Dreams book, and I'm happy to say that I finished the first two double spreads! (If you missed the first post about the first conceptual steps, you can read it here!)
I decided to go for a retro comic/manga influenced look, by using halftones instead of grey values for the flats. It's interesting to work in black & white, and I already learned new things about contrasts (I'll put these learnings into a separate post later on).
It's also been incredible to see the first pages by our lineup artists coming in..I'm having high hopes for this book when I see the quality. We'll post some of these sneak peeks to Instagram every now and then!
