Dev Blog 2018-06-07

Hello everyone,

So we were quite busy since our last release. As I mentioned in the previous post our main goal for this month is to add more gameplay aspects to our game. Below I will show an example of an image or a gif (note that gif might not loop here on patreon post so there will be an extra link after each one) with some description explaining what changes we have made.

So we made bunch of tweaks for our textures that should look more appealing right now. We have also removed white outlines from most of the trees which were a little bit of an eye sore. Furthermore, before you might have experienced strange "pixelating" effect while moving your camera around which has been also fixed.

Here you can see our new female model in the works. Our current plan is to make a decent model which could be reused many times for new girls in our game. On the right you can see a lot of different settings, meaning that we just have to move the slider and her body proportions will change accordingly. Doing that we will save a lot of time in the future, without having the need to make a new model for each new NPC.

This is our new enemy that will be added in the upcoming build. He will be more like an elite monster that's hard to kill. We have posted this image in our discord before, but wanted to share it with everyone else as well.

We just recently finished rigging it, for those who don't know what that means then to put it simply we made a skeleton for it which will be responsible for moving all the bones. Next step is to make a lot of movement and attack animations. Will update you on that in our next dev blog.

Previously we only made a template for our passive skills, but here you can see a new sketch of how the new system will look like. Don't worry this was mainly made to show you an example on what to expect and not the final version. To keep it short you will have an ability to select a new passive after reaching a certain level, you can only choose one from the following categories: Offensive/Defensive/Utility. We are still brainstorming ideas what kind of skills these could be, any suggestions are more than welcome.

Finally added a feature to equip two weapons at a time. As you can see one will be placed on the players back and the other one will be held as before, as well as the ability to unequip them both.

Before we didn't have a lot of time to tweak our inventory system, but finally things are coming along nicely. Now you will be able to either right click on the weapon or simply by dragging and dropping. If you have a weapon equipped from before then it will get replaced. Also if you don't meet level requirements weapon slots will turn red meaning that you can't equip them as otherwise weapon slot will turn green, indicating where the item should be dropped.

We have replaced our old teleport placeholder to an updated model which even has an animation. Later we will animate player entering the teleport to give a better felling.

Just a short example that will we start paying more attention to detail. In this example we have added a transition before becoming invisible, but before you would simply become invisible without any indication.
