So instead of the "planes" be actual planes of existence, they're different cliques. Another easy way to think of it is imaging South Park's The Stick of Truth or Fractured, But Whole. Drama with the son-dads (Grant, Terry Jr., etc) could still be used as well.

This was the best😂 i was a huge band nerd in high school with other band nerd friends who all considered themselves to be in a band cult, so i deeply appreciated the representation. We also had to do line dancing as part of our gym class and we, as the band kids, were always considered the best cause we actually knew how rhythm worked. Am I taking Crazy Pills? I really enjoyed the episode, it was very entertaining because these guys really know how to play scenes and just throw really great absurdist side bits like the whole combo of Freddie’s teen fact and Will’s follow up. But, it was such a lackluster episode in terms of anything actually happening that the absurdism stands on its own.. and absurdism often does it’s best when it’s overlayed onto a “real world”. Conversely, in the first season the absurdism was the entire Faerun world with the cast being the “real world” payed over the absurd. So, since the ‘real world’ is now absurd, and the characters have grown up in the absurd, the weirdness just seems to bleed into itself with no discernibility. Now, it seems that most of the general audience enjoys the extreme absurdity, as the show became more and more absurd as time went, but in the first season plot really held things together. I know Anthony mentioned it being a bit of a monster of the week at first, so I think story/plot/narrative will pick up. That being said, I’m interested to see how the podcast holds up until the story becomes more apparent. We ought to remember that first season had three huge arcs, find the sons, refined the sons, fight the dads, which doesn’t count sub-arcs, so I definitely think these first few episodes will retroactively feel more concrete once we’re more into the season. Anyone else find this one disappointing with the weirdness and lack of any story progression? Spoiler: Random people bringing trumpet melting acid and going to the popular kids secret stable to get a horse, okay then, might as well go to shop class and get a light saber or the nuclear reactor that powers the school in the future, out of all the episodes this was the first one that was just weird and nonsensical.
