[Talking Dad] Ep. 24 - The Sins of the Fathers

Comments

The amount of times Beth has said “That would make a good band name” throughout this whole show is actually crazy. It’s like a trademark at this point

Kaiberly Cournoyer-Rowland

Matt reminds me so much of my husband, when my husband was a kid he would go door to door asking if people wanted to play with him cuz he was lonely (very dangerous) but the story they told reminded me of that

Gabby Mize

The hand washing/Contagion conversation in Jan 2020 aged like an avocado. 🥑 👌🏽

Corkboard Podcast Network

Agreed. Great analysis.

Caleb Crawford

I went into this episode with the exact same feeling. This is my first time listening to Talking Dads and second through the pod and each time it stressed me out feeling like it got personal. And then they barely addressed it in this TD. I guess maybe that means it wasn't that big of a deal to them? As a listener though it kinda stressed me out lol.

Caleb Crawford

hi

Bear

Cant believe Freddie didnt mention Will’s gasp its the only vocal tick ive ever noticed but i hear it every time and its my favorite thing

EvilCharlie

The thing Beth said about Backdraft, that after seeing the clip she thought doors could just have fire behind them, I had the same thing when I saw it. My dad rented it when I was real young and yeah I was confused by the fire. It didn't affect me or anything, but the impression I had was that sometimes doors have fire behind them for a few years

Jesse Barbour

You guys took so long to address the Darryl/Henry conflict. That shit stressed me out, it's all I could think abt lol. Roleplaying got too real, esp when Matt breaks character and says "DM"

Evrin Wolfe

The best part about listening to this episode was the fact that one day prior I had just road The Mummy Ride at Universal Orlando. So I laughed so hard. Side note Universal sucks because almost every ride was broke or shut down.

Nicholas Bugeja

I’ve been spending too much audio time with Glenn. Because I read this as “Indica Jones Ride.”

Krryptiid

Happy Honda days! Hope you get a lot of TOYotas!

Isaac A

I love how Beth is all “Ooo they’re getting close to the end!” And then the podcast continues for 30+ more episodes.

Neptune M. Kicks

Man I miss when steak 🥩 was 10-15 dollars now it's like 30 for a good pick ⛏️

Michael Valdivia

Anthony’s opinion about the Indiana Jones ride is the correct opinion

Macy Proctor

Damn, listening to this episode post-pandemic. That chat about hand washing hands and using hand sanitiser aged really well.

Alistair Mackay

The year is 2022 and contagion did not encourage people to wash their hands and we learned nothing from it

Dwight Martin Campbell

Oh man, oh my gosh. Oh man, oh my gosh. Oh man

TJ The Goob King

Twister is the reason I have an irrational phobia of tornados. Watched it waay too young.

Branden Mosley

Catching up on Talking Dad and came to comments to say just this! Glad I’m not the only one who noticed this.

Donna Ibale

Zing

Jordan French

28:00 hand washing saves lives, the prophecy was foretold

Johnny Udall

I just became a Patron, so I'm going to leave increasingly out of date comments on these as I'm listening in backwards order. Anyway, Contagion haha how unlikely is that?

Karen Bartlett

That would make Henry Oak, as they say, problematic lol

tyler walton

Is Henry Oak an anti-vaxxer? The world must know.

Travis Lopez

What were the dads first kiss like?

Maxim Gagnon

Not sure where to submit questions but I’m hoping it’s here. Question: Have any of the kids walked in on the dads doing “the deed” (aka clapping cheeks). If so how did the dads awkwardly cover it up

Geovanni Botticella

What are Glen and Daryl’s favorite amusement park rides? What do Henry and Ron do for thrills rather than rollercoasters?

Riley Diwee

A timeline split would be fun

Vonn Frey

That would be amazing. Or a dad & son who were in the middle of the ride maybe.

Kurt Wright

I can't wait to see if there's a random employee, stuck in the ride at some point. Some random shmuck......i hope.

William Ramsey

So one of the things Beth mentioned is the worry about getting closer to the end of the campaign because of not being sure of what comes next... But I feel like the perfect solution is to have this campaign only truly as the 1st part of an epic story, wherein when the dads and their sons return to their world only to find they're in a horrifying parallel world where everything has gone wrong and they have to fix it- clthulu rules pt. two. The editing work for the horror/suspense/humor was incredible and I feel like the team really shined there.

Squibbles

We know Glenn is a solid fretsmith, but what instruments do the other dads play?

Anthony Silveri

So...has anyone pointed out yet or have you all noticed that Dungeons And Dragons is the three letter acronym DAD? I CAN'T be the first...

Kurt Wright

We know that Glenn went to University of Texas International. Where did the other dads go to school? What did they major in? Did anyone go to grad school? Does Henry have a Ph.D.?

The Sullivan Girls

How did the dads meet the moms?

Ashley Laduranteay

Did Glenn ever master "Through the fire and the Flames" by Dragonforce? Or did he just master it on Guitar Hero

LoneGuardian303

Based on his big blowup, i like to think that a bunch of Henry's guilt/anger is from the fact that he feels like that pyramid is more his fault that the other dads'. They had found his kids and were only in the dungeon where they found the bag of beans because Lark and Sparrow put them there. If they had listened just this one time and didn't try and summon an elder god, none of this would have happened. I feel like that helps explain why Henry chose this hill to die on when Darryl's point was just that their kid's are more important that their guilt.

Sean Dougherty

yessir the ol' f dog's gotta work on being less of an interrupting cow

Dungeons and Daddies

Twister is a fantastic movie.

Ohmanhoman

They've all had so much practice talking over one another, I'm not sure they can turn it off.

Dissident Love

Man the guys really interrupt Beth a lot. Like she'll want to say something and then Freddie will butt in to say something kinda related, Beth will try to continue and then eventually give up when the guys keep talking...biggest example is when she was talking about her vocal tick.

Mike Rhine

Beth! When I was 5 years old I saw a movie where someone shifted their car and then it exploded. I was afraid of the shifter for a decade. I even asked during driver's ed class how probable it was to explode your car by moving the shifter. Super embarrassing!
