He's admitting Jon was right about the need to seal the tunnels, but also gave him a lesson in leadership; he admitted his own arrogance and how said arrogance can cause you to lose. Likewise he spelled it out plainly that "we're on the same side; we're fighting tonight and we're both surviving and after that we both go on living to hate one another." Alliser is one of those guys you should hate, but also have to give points to, because he's not stupid and he stands for something he believes in. "Do you plan to die here tonight?" "No, ser!" "That's very good to hear!" I know its not meant to be funny, but Alliser cracks me up with that reply lol RIP Pyp... Sam was a megabro for him in his last moments. I could hear it in his voice; he felt so sad that Pyp was going to die, but bless him, he still tried to comfort him.
