Mace is a goober, but he's a nice dood at heart. He loves his kids, Margery and Loras, but yeah he commands next to no respect as he is a dimwit. Still, I feel bad for him since he's like one of the nicest people in the story.

But his mother, Olenna, is the true leader of their house and everyone knows it. Tywin talking over Mace as he's introducing himself and telling him to fetch a quill and parchment like a messenger boy shows how little he regards him. Olenna also told him to shut up and go somewhere else in a previous episode. The man has zero respect from anyone heh.
